Baseball and basketball are widespread around the world. And of course soccer. Besides North America where else is American football played? If it is not nearly in as many countries as the above mentioned other three sports, why not?

American handegg and baseball are practically non-existent in these parts.
Both go on for ages, and only have about 11 minutes of gameplay 💤
Football (soccer to you), is mostly non-stop, except for injuries, and sometimes VAR.
Basketball and ice hockey are kind of fringe sports in Bristol, that get a little bit of interest... there is a gridiron team, but nobody gives a rats ass about it. Baseball doesn't even exist here.

You do have Google on your computer, right? I found the information you asked for in about 10 seconds.

Interesting question as I was just reading through one of the threads on here the other day (maybe player of the decade or something) and most of the American Football players guys were listing off were names I'd literally never heard of.
Got me thinking that be an American Football player - with the associated huge salary - must be one of the best sports to be a star in as you could go virtually anywhere else in the world during the (extensive!) off season and not be recognised at all / harassed walking down the street.

I wouldn't recognise a single NFL player, except Colin Kaepernick. Whereas say Lionel Messi or Mo Salah would get spotted everywhere they go.

Yeah, I meant to say that - but was wondering if that rang true in America? e.g. if Messi walked down the streets of Philadelphia say would he be recognised? I don't think it's being Eurocentric as certainly footballers would be recognised elsewhere but may a USA Vs rest of the world divide...

American Football is basically played at any sort of level in one country only. The NFL has fans all over the world, but there is no local league to follow - you follow NFL and maybe college football. In Australia especially, NFL far exceeds College Football in popularity.

If it is not nearly in as many countries as the above mentioned other three sports, why not? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Football_LeagueEdit: Plus the NFL Europe which was more or less a German business with five of six teams located in Germany, and Frankfurt Galaxy had a higher attendance than the Chargers (well over 30,000) - and they had no NFL teams which played them to support the attraction of the league, and yet two teams had already better results then MLS teams in the US. But instead to built up on this you show us the finger and give the out of the US games almost exclusively to London. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_Europe

I know what you mean. I have zero idea what our European posters are going on about when they talk of their football. And if any European football players were to visit America, they wouldn't get recognized either. While I don't care for midichlorians, I must mention that I find your name and avatar clever!

If Mo Salah was in my living room with a shirt on that read "I'm Mo Salah", I wouldn't know who he was. I know what Messi looks like, but he also looks like a million other people - - kind of nondescript.

I don't know if I'd say baseball is widespread. In East Asia and Latin America, yeah. In Europe, Asia, South America and Africa, not so much.
