British-American singer and actress Annie Ross has left us at the age of 89, on July 21st. She recorded seven albums with Lambert, Hendricks & Ross between 1957 and 1962. Her film roles include Straight On till Morning 1972, Alfie Darling 1976, Funny Money 1983, Superman III 1983, Throw Momma from the Train 1987, Witchery 1988, Pump Up the Volume 1990, Robert Altman's Short Cuts 1993, and Blue Sky 1994. She also appeared as Granny Ruth in the horror films Basket Case 2 1990 and Basket Case 3: The Progeny 1991. She is remembered by Arts of EntertainmentR.I.P. Sérgio Ricardo (18 June 1932 – 23 July 2020). Distinguished Brazilian musician, composer, movie maker & writer. A popular & prominent figure in Brazil's Cinema Novo throughout the 1960s & 70s. He directed five films 1964-74, notably composing the evocative music for Glauber Rocha's, Black God White Devil (1964) & many others.. R.I.P Sérgio Ricardo

Olivia de Havilland, the last legendary star from the Golden Age of Hollywood, passed away today in Paris at the age of 104. In her 53 year career she received five Oscar nominations, winning twice as best actress for her performances in To Each His Own and The Heiress. She was known for being a woman who lived life on her own terms, even within the Hollywood studio system. Her talent was great and her legacy large. She will be remembered and missed. Danish composer Bent Fabricius-Bjerre aka Bent Fabric has left us at the age of 95, on July 28th. He composed for over 115 movies and television productions between 1949 and 2019. Internationally maybe best known for the melody "Alley Cat" that became very popular worldwide in the early 1960s, and won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental. He is remembered by DR DKR.I.P. Alley Cat was a great tune. When it was "on the charts," there was a persistent rumor going around that Bent Fabric was, really, Steve Allen. I never did know ... until now ... if it was true/not.

Steve Allen posed as both "Buck Hammer" and "Mary Anne Jackson" and put out two albums under the names of these two fictional jazz pianists. I'd akways thought "Bent Fabric" was the name of a group. R.I.P.

American actress Sonia Darrin has left us at the age of 96, on July 19th. She danced in the film Lady in the Dark 1944 and worked with Ed Wynn and Alan Young on their early television programs. Possibly her most famous role was that of femme fatale Agnes Lowzier in Howard Hawks's 1946 film The Big Sleep where she plays a bookstore clerk and paramour of minor Los Angeles gangster Joe Brody (played by Louis Jean Heydt).
