very cool movie poster. If they put as much thought into the movie it will be at least decent.

That's a skull in the first poster.
Wasn't there a short-lived revival of Fantasy Island with Malcolm McDowell playing Mr. Roark? Too dark.

I used to love the original series and I don't know about you but the idea of turning it into a horror film is disappointing.

Some of the guests on the original Fantasy Island didn't get what they expected, but still. There was another one I vaguely remember, a Fantasy Island ripoff where people get punished, with Joel Grey, unless I'm having another Mandela Effect moment. There was also a short-lived reality series called "Fantasy" with Peter Marshall and Leslie Uggams where they granted peoples wishes around 1982 or '83. If you've never seen the movie "Haunts of the Very Rich," I thought it was good, but there was nothing much comical about it. IMO no on could beat Ricardo Montalban when it came to granting people's fantasies. He was in dreadful pain from a back injury he suffered while making a film in 1951, but he was a great actor right to the end.

I just saw the preview for it the other day for the first time. It looked like a horror movie? That was surprising, I thought it would be in line with the TV show (of which I only have the vaguest of recollections, aside from Khan and the dwarf guy).

It only lasted a few episodes. Got to look that one up.

I'll probably wait for streaming... I did like "Truth or dare" despite some bad acting etc.
I like that they turned it into a darker theme based on the show's premise. I'm guessing it will be a guilty pleasure type movie. Plus the cast is cool. (Lucy Hale, Maggie Q, Portia Doubleday, etc.)

I got back from seeing it a few hours ago. It wasnโt totally awful. Itโs not really a horror movie either. It plays more like a supernatural mystery. Donโt really know how much this had in common with the show. Iโd watch it again.
6/10
