Glass Onion? Ugh. Offhand it seems like a better fit for a book title than a movie title; for one thing, if I didn’t know I’d never guess it’s the title of a mystery. I was really hoping for Chalice_Of_Evil’s suggestion, Knives In.

Fixing a hole in a donut Trying to make a Benoit Blanc, yeah Looking through a glass onion. So basically Benoit Blanc listens to both Stephen Sondheim and the Beatles? I knew I liked the guy!

In fact, if Johnson wanted to go with a Beatles “Glass Onion” reference (I’m assuming the reference is to the song), he could have called the movie Another Clue. Not that that’s the best title either, but at least it would clearly identify the film as a mystery.

I thought the first was a little overrated but I’m excited for this.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, which takes place from September 8 to 18. The specific date that Glass Onion will be shown remains to be seen.

Angela Lansbury and Stephen Sondheim will both make appearances in the film. It will be the final on-screen role for both now-departed legends.

The one week thing really sucks. If viewers can’t get to the movies that week, they’re just out of luck—what a dumb business decision. I just looked it up and the movie’s playing near me that week, so I hope to see it then. But still, that decision sucks.

I wrote this on Reddit, but while I wasn’t expecting Lansbury, I was expecting something with Sondheim, what with Johnson’s use of “Losing My Mind” in Knives Out and Glass Onion’s clear inspiration/borrowings from the Sondheim-cowritten Last of Sheila.

I, for one, am just happy Rian Johnson randomly told us that Blanc is gay. Never would’ve seen this otherwise. It was such necessary information to make me see this and its subsequent sequels.

Finally watched the trailer for this. I really enjoyed the first but this one looks like it’s trying way too hard to be a comedy. Also, the characters (aside from Blanc) seem very obnoxious.

That’s actually a pretty strong number for a limited release.
