was thinking about doing this at the trail i run on (note - i jog with a mask and social distance at 5am - my issue is with those who don't wear masks after our governor put an order out - and those who don't social distance while using the trail)

Late last week, it had been reported that in the county where I live, there had no new cases of COVID-19 reported for close to a week. So, whatever we're doing .... is working!
In Ontario, for 3 straight days last week, the amount of new cases of the virus was less than 200 per day. I haven't seen the number today, but I think it'll be slightly higher than that. Watching the Kitchener, ON news last night, it was said that the Region of Waterloo doesn't update their new case number over the weekend. So, any new ones they report, it'll get tacked on to today's total.
Meanwhile, I feel sorry for those who are trying to do their part in the States. Over the weekend, there were over 11000 (that's right - 11 THOUSAND) new cases reported in Florida alone. And, Trump said 99% of the cases are "harmless".
REALLY?!

Joker's Wilde My heart is broken.
I'm a frequent visitor to a lake around here and a running trail.
I'm one of the few wearing masks - this after last week the Governor of State ordered that masks are now required in public - before they were just required entering a store.
It shows a complete lack of moral responsibility and obligation to your neighbor.
I wear a mask for you - for you and your loved ones, for the essential workers out there - for the population as a whole - not knowing if I have it and not wanting to pass it off to somebody with a weaker immune system.
My emotions have swung from shock - to anger - to sadness over the behavior of my community.

Joker's Wilde So yesterday in Florida, about 10,000 people got the flu, around 60 people died, 90% of whom were more than likely over 80 years old. I'm gonna type this quietly, so as to not stir up those that live in constant fear and worry......but actually, that is kinda harmless. 98% of the people who caught the virus yesterday will be perfectly fine after a few days of rest and about a gallon of orange juice. Shhhh....don't tell anybody, but that's the truth.

So Canada so far has had over 8000 Covid deaths, basically the size of a very poorly attended Leafs game, yet is now looking at a $343 billion deficit. Does anyone up there actually question this bullshit, or is most of your country as blind as we seem to be here? And what do you call folks that simply question what your government is doing to its citizens. Down here, we are called "conspiracy theorists". Is that the term you use up in Canada?

By bullshit you mean the money versus death count ratio?
The number (came out today) is quite high because the decision was made to make money rain on pretty much everybody, from business to workers to students who won't/couldn't find a job this summer... the last point being something questioned quite a bit (on the streets, on the radio, on TV) but it didn't stop the government from going:
2000$ a month for nearly everybody without a job...
Still, that didn't escape Fitch:
As for the term used to describe the people who question the government's actions, I can't really tell you for the english part of Canada but here in Québec we don't have a specific expression, despite the fact that we do have a translation of "conspiracy theorists" (conspirationniste). People are questioning the mask, distancing and other measures just like every where else.

On the bus in Edinburgh today where face masks are compulsory.
Four people out of about 12 passengers not wearing masks.
Asked the driver as I was alighting 'Why are you letting on all those fannies who aren't wearing masks?".
"Sorry, squire, nothing we can do to enforce it".
They don't even politely ask the inconsiderate turds to wear a mask the next time.
This country sucks ass.
My old Mum said it was the same in the shops today. Only two shoppers wearing masks. Mask wearing became compulsory in shops in Scotland today.

I already witnessed altercations between people not wearing masks and some ill-advised people wearing masks who tell (more yell at) them that they should wear it...
On a side note, I'm not sure if it was the case elsewhere but they made public transport free while the pandemic was hitting us pretty hard but they plan on charging again in a few days but that meant a lot of weirdos and others who would not usually use the public transport were using it.
That also created a special dynamic.

Yeah, you have to be careful about challenging someone for not wearing a mask: www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jul/10/philippe-monguillot-french-bus-driver-dies-following-attack-passengers-refused-wear-masks

Generally speaking, I have little or no business questioning anyone not wearing a mask on a bus. If they have legitimate health reasons, then it's none of my business. And if they don't have health issues it's still none of my business and if they beat me about the head then I deserve all I get for being an interfering twat. Thankfully I'm not.

RIP mr. Monguillot
I was referring more to passengers challenging other passengers to wear it.

I hate wearing masks, and they are next to pointless, if not even cause more harm then good. The only reason why I wear then is because I know in what trouble the employees of these shops etc. pp. can get into. But I want my revenge on the political elite... The bus driver should have known better, especially since it were young and highly aggressive Muslims - with a long police record. But this is also a failure of our elites too. Letting this scum first in our countries, and then being totally lax on them. And this BLM bullshit will make it only worse for the police have become now a legitimate target for these "Asians" and other aggressive minorities.

Well, it's now officially affected me.
This morning I lost one of my really good college friends to Coronavirus. Lived next to him for four years of college. Came to my wedding. Was one of twelve guys in my college fantasy football leagues for the last 25 years.
49 years old. He had rheumatoid arthritis - - don't know if that counts as a preexisting condition or not. He had been on a ventilator for the last three weeks and had a heart attack a week ago. The family was waiting to see if he got better this weekend and if not, we're going to take him off of life support on Monday. At least it didn't have to come down to that. Has a 12-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. Mom and Dad both are still alive.
First college friend of mine to die. Had a text chain of fifteen other friends writing about this for the last three weeks. Probably had 5000 texts over that time.
I'm absolutely sick over it. Can't believe I'll never be able to talk to him again.

We are lucky to be living where we are in the UK, there hasn't been many cases or deaths in the immediate vicinity. So far the numbers don't appear to be going up from the lock down easing but it might be a little too early to tell. It's not looking good in the US though.
