So - I'm late to the party on 'Get Out' It's on FX now I guess I'm i the 0.01% who thinks the plot is incredibly stupid? And you're talking to somebody who is a fan of 'Basket Case'
** Edit - I have a much better way of writing/directing this movie. It's a ghost story. The white folk are actually slave owners and trying to get this black kid into their 'family' so he can work for them as a slave. Now isn't that much better?
As we've been saying here lately: What we really need a lot more of is movies where everyone was actually secretly a ghost the whole time.

Would have saved this stinker
What a ridiculous plot. I mean - it's a horror movie - we can expect that - but the approval ratings for this movie are off the charts and a lot of people regard it as one of the greatest horrors of All-Time.
I saw the first half of 'Us' too - had a great premise - but something was missing for me. Maybe I'll have to revisit sometime
Apparently he's doing the new Candyman (no clue if it's been out and I just missed it)
I don't get the fuss.
Need to revisit an old favorite to get this bad taste out of my mouth - onto Children of the Corn.....

If you get around to watching the second half of Us maybe you can come up with a theory that about how nobody on screen exists, it all takes place in purgatory, and it was all a dream at the same time.

If memory serves the main character was traumatized as a kid at a Carnival on the beach
In all likelihood - her visions were just her head
Don't spoil it for me - but this is where I think it could be going........

You spoil everything you see. Why shouldn't we spoil it for you? I love Get Out, one of the better movies of the last 10 years for me. Us wasn't my favorite. I really wanted to love it and it has great things in it, is very well acted, but it falls apart in the end and I think the way in which it falls apart unravels a lot of what works during everything that leads up to it. It also makes zero sense, which I'm normally fine with, but the implications as to how the story works are vast and nonsensical.

Apologies all - I'm having trouble with my spoilers - just don't read the bottom if you don't want to be spoiled
Maybe I wasn't giving it my full attention but just the thought of brain transplants and hypnosis was just too far out there for me. I just expected something different since this was widely accepted by mainstream movie goers as opposed to just horror fans. I love House of 1,000 Corpes; however the ending was just 'Meh' involving Dr. Satan - thank God they axed his character in future films. But I just got a whole Dr. Satan vibe with the brain surgery stuff
For being so accepted and mainstream - I guess I just expected something a little more believable

I have to admit I was a little confused when it turned out the predator was a ghost in purgatory having a dream about a xenomorph with a split personality that never existed at all. But looking back, the clues were all there.

I'm 4 episodes in to What We Do In The Shadows. I really enjoyed the movie when it came out, and I'm a big fan of Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi so it only stands to reason that I would enjoy this show. I'm not sure why I didn't watch it when it first came out. In any event, it's kind of everything I want in a show right now. Silly, irreverent, sardonic, cleverly written and just an overall blast to watch. It might be the most "fun" thing I've enjoyed in recent months so given everything thats going on in the world around us, it's basically the perfect show for right now. Give it a watch!

I fucking love this show. I haven't rewatched, but the second season is at least as good if not better. The whole cast is excellent and, not to spoil anything, but when some familiar faces show up it's handled perfectly. Also, I'm not sure if you've gotten to this point yet, but monster/makeup specialist actor Doug Jones has a featured role at one point and it's just great. You can tell that he and everyone else is having the best time making the show.

I'm counting down the time until I finish work and wrap up for the night so I can sit down and watch a few episodes. The episodes I watched last night involved the werewolf blood feud, and an episode where they went to visit Nick Kroll in what turned out to be an elaborate ruse for him to steal Laszlo's witch-skin hat, which was amazing.

I believe that's also when Vanessa Bayer was on, right? I loved her character and wanted to see her on more of the show. Also, as I said I love the whole cast, but Colin Robinson is such a great and clever concept for that character and they picked the perfect guy. That's one of the best matches of an actor to a character you'll ever see, and they take him to great places as it goes on.

I agree, thus far, him and Laszlo are my two favorites and the whole concept of the energy vampire, who feeds on you by boring you to death, is incredible. I crack up every time he walks up to someone, starts talking about zoning ordinances and they just slowly slink over.

Yeah they're all great, and they all have more great moments ahead of where you are now. But Colin Robinson is especially inspired, and I loved the pairing of the emotional vampire with his energy vampire. Just hilariously brilliant all around. But his best episode is in season 2. As is Laszlo's, which also has an amazing guest star performance. I'm having a hard time trying to talk about it while not saying too much about a lot of things because I don't wanna spoil it, so just keep watching.

I’ve been watching “How I Met Your Mother”. When it premiered all those years ago I watched it for a while, exclusively for Alyson Hannigan. I didn’t enjoy it all that much, so I stopped – I don’t think I even finished the first season. Later I must have watched a few loose episodes here and there.
Fast-forward to 2021. After watching “Cobra Kai”, I became curious about what career Willam Zabka had before he reprised his role of Johnny Lawrence from Karate Kid. I looked up his filmography on that other site that shall remain nameless and saw that he was in a couple of episodes of “How I Met..” playing himself. I got curious about it and decided to watch those episodes, which are available on Netflix. The first episode where he appears is from the end of season 8. I watched that one, and then another one and another one, and then decided to watch the whole ninth (and final) season, to see how it ends. I now have two episodes left.
I’ve enjoyed these 20+ episodes I’ve watched and had quite a few laughs, but not nearly enough to make me want to go back and watch the first eight seasons.

My Bloody Valentine - the original - 1981
These horrid B slasher movies from the 80s have actually been quite enjoyable
