Classic football matches from the not-too-distant-past. In particular an unforgettable match between Motherwell and Hibs!!!. WTF? A classic game of football from the SPL? I hear you say! This one finished 6-6 (six-six). Full of dire defending, strikers banging them in from here there and everywhere and an equaliser in the last minute, that makes Van Basten's glory goal look very ordinary. Catch this if you can. Sky Sports It was on BBC Scotland the other day. Not available on iPlayer though, alas. Iforgot to watch it. Actually, it is available: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000j05b/sportscene-scottish-football-classics-motherwell-v-hibernian

Well I’ve finished Upload s1. Excellent. Highly recommend! I’ve now got a big crush on lead actress Andy Allo! Yes, that really is her name! She should change her first name to Dave!

Been streaming the Al Pacino movie Danny Collins as it’s free to Amazon Prime subscribers in the U.K.
Nice little movie. Al plays an ageing rock star who hasn’t written any music in thirty years and decides to visit his adult son for the first time.
Al is great (he always is) and the rest of the cast all do very good work. Bobby Cannavale as the son is a great foil for Al.
Also starring Annette Benning, Jennifer Garner, Christopher Plummer.

Dateline - Mystery at Heath Bar Farm
'The convicted murderer of a popular teacher is given a second chance at freedom when new evidence is revealed'.
I bet the teacher's husband/wife actually did it.
Lets see what unfolds folks.

nogbadWith all due respect, man, Trollhunter is not a movie for me. Don't get me wrong. I am not saying the movie has flaws. I am just not going to try to see it because it looks as if someone shot it with home camera. No I have still not developed taste for such things. That said, every movie you have so far recommended and that I have seen has been pretty good.

Lets see what unfolds folks. I am a bit embarrassed to ask but how are movies like The Avengers (2012)?. A bit disgusting of me to have felt for a long time that these are the kinds of movies made for stupid men who are still mentally children. Now that I am running out of movies of my kind I am kind of thinking about trying them. So is this movie a standalone movie or I have to watch something before it? Which would be the first film of the series?

Because I was thinking of doing the same thing.
I'm not a superhero film fan at all.
However I'm running out of things to watch.
I've never seen one Avengers movie, one X-Men movie - or the Batmans (and I'm a Christian Bale fan), and on down the list.
I don't think I've seen more than 5 - I've seen the 3 Tobey McGuire (however you spell it) Spidermans and Batman vs. Superman - that's it.

Haha...at least it is comforting to know that there are like minded people. Those are simply not the kind of movies I like. I will probably now spend an hour or so searching for some British horror picture set in Cornwall area. Those are my favourite go to movies. Or slashers like Friday the 13th or vampire movies or some Japanese Samurai films or noirs or westerns. I am not into comics world.

Not everybody's cup of tea, for sure, but who knows, maybe you'll enjoy it. It's definitely not a stand-alone movie though; the characters that make up the Avengers were introduced in earlier movies, one for each character (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk). I don't know if you are familiar with those characters, or how lost you'd be if you tried watching The Avengers without having seen the other movies first. Maybe you should start with the first Iron Man movie. That one can be watched as a stand-alone movie.

I watched Orson Welles’ “The Lady from Shanghai”. First time watch, and I didn’t like it at all. Some gorgeous black and white photography, but not nearly gorgeous enough to compensate for the nonsensical plot and Welles’ laughable attempt at an Irish accent. I was just reading about the making of the movie and it seems that the studio cut one hour of the movie, so the terrible end result is (probably) not Welles’ fault.
“Citizen Kane” it ain’t!

May be I can try out those other movies which build up the characters.
I just finished a Korean movie called I Saw the Devil (2010). I thought it was quite good. One of those movies in which the idea of revenge and the style of execution of revenge plot might be questionable. I think I will recommenced it to others. My rating 6.75/10, IMDB rating 7.8/10

'I Saw the Devil' - did it have subtitles? Think I tried watching it a few years back and turned it off because it had subtitles. If I want to read I'll read a book.
Can't believe I stuck with Trollhunter which was all subtitles - although truth be told I was doing like 10 things at once and not really paying attention.
I've never seen any of the Star Wars flicks or Harry Potter flicks either.
Looks like I'm down to Super Hero movies, Star Wars or Harry Potter - or maybe I just recycle horror and mob movies again.

I am pretty sure I’ve seen “I Saw the Devil” but I have only he vaguest of recollections of the story. There’s a serial killer, right? And doesn’t it begin with a woman being abducted from a car?

Animal Kingdom fans -
Anybody else find it a little ridiculous this small family of hoodlums has gotten this lifelong Naval Officer to flip for some dough?
He's just going to all of the sudden 'break bad'?
Good show - just a little ridiculous.
