Watching some corny old Michael Caine caper flick called Silver Bears. Jay Leno is in it .... I’d forgotten how massive his chin is.

Watching Governor Cuomo give a coronavirus update on CNN Some of these speech interpreters facial expressions and body language look so exaggerated when they're signing - like they're angry and pissed and about to lose it

I watched "Let Me In" (2010), the American remake of the great Swedish vampire movie "Let the Right One In" (2008). I watched the original at a film festival and loved it; when the remake came out I avoided it almost as a matter of principle - but I always had it in the back of my mind that one day I should watch it. Well, that day was yesterday.
I thought it was a pretty decent movie, better than your average remake. I know there are a few fans of horror movies here; have you seen it? If so, what did you think of it? Have you also seen the original? Did you even know it was a remake?
Not usually a horror fan, but I loved the original, and the remake is very good as well. I was surprised at how good Let Me In was. I was expecting it to be 'Americanized' in all the worst ways, but I thought it kept true to the tone of LTROI.

Finished the second season of The Deuce.
There are certain people who I will be extremely bummed about when they retire/die. David Simon is in the top five of that list.

Couple of old American comedies.
My favourite Wife with Cary Grant and Irene Dunne. Fantastic! They just don’t make ‘em like that any more. Pisses all over the romcoms they churn out now, which are just charmless toss. Just shoot me already!
Copacabana with Groucho Marx and Carmen Miranda. Not top drawer Groucho, but still had me laughing quite often. Enjoyed it.

F13th: Part III - 3D
This is one of the best ones (arguably the best in the franchise outside of FvJ) - with one of the best menacing hulking Jasons - before the series went downhill with Kane Hodder (linebacker Jason)

We have been watching Mrs. America, which has been terrific. The finale aired on Wednesday, we'll probably check that out tonight.
We also started Ray Donovan, which neither of us have watched. Only a few episodes in, so far it's entertaining enough.
I need to figure out some good movies to watch this weekend after the Mrs. turns in. That's usually my prime viewing time.

Agents Of SHIELD, the best Marvel show, is back for it's final season. They've gone back in time to 1931 and the season opener didn't disappoint.

I stopped watching a while ago but I am thinking of giving the final season a chance. I hope I won't be completely lost. I recorded the first episode this week but haven't watched it yet.

So you didn't see the season set in the far future?

So you didn't see the season set in the far future? No, I didn't. I wasn't even aware of that. I don't remember when I stopped watching; I think it was at the end of the season when Ghost Rider showed up.
I did catch part of an episode of a later season that took place in space. Was that in the future? If so, I didn't realise it. I think those aliens from the Captain Marvel movie were there, so I naturally assumed that it was aliens, not time travel.
I guess I will look up on Wikipedia to see what I've missed, in general lines.

I don't follow the show religiously so even I'm sort of confused by the plotting, and I'm not one to rewatch shows. Ghost Rider is season 4. They jumped to the future in season 5. Last season (6) and this year are shortened to 13 episodes. I'd consider the seasons self-contained to an extent, even though what happens in one season affects the following season.

Got the 1917 blu-Ray.
Enjoying it quite a bit so far.
I was a bit thrown three minutes in when Daniel Mays said “we’re behind schedule” and pronounced it as sked-yule. Now I know that’s becoming more common in the U.K. now, sadly, but there is no way under the Sun a Briton would have pronounced that word in 1917 as anything other than shed-yule.
Took me right out of the moment!

They had blu-ray in 1917? Fuck me, I've still got a VHS player plugged in to my telly in 2020.

Definitely recommend 1917; terrific spectacle but with some heart too. George MacKay is great, as always.
