I've often thought about watching it but am worried it's a Breaking Bad wannabe.

Haven’t started it yet. Was trying to finish Altered Carbon season 2 first but then I got sidetracked with My Hero Academia season 4

About halfway through this season. Still pretty engaging, but literally every character has turned into a complete dumbass this season. WTF? Everyone becomes stupider to heighten the drama.

Just finished....All in all good and entertaining. Lots of face smacking, "cant believe this character is acting like this" moments tho. Mostly in regards to the lack of communication early on between the Byrds, Wendys feeling she had a right with the Cartel boss, and Ben in general. Ben can be written away as his mental disorder, I guess. But the lack of awareness between Marty and Wendy early on to communicate their major decisions involving the KC Mob, casinos, drug cartels and FBI involvement was pretty much ridiculous and I have no idea how they managed to not get killed or imprisoned in these several episodes. The whole on again off again thing between Wendy and Marty I think has run its course with me. Just be together or don't be together. I liked Charlottes and Jonahs evolution. Jonah had a bit more this season and that was fine. Ruth is still great and her and Bens thing I thought took its time enough. Didn't really care for the Wyatt Darlene stuff...actually had a legitimate eye roll moment when they had their first sex scene...but I did like where Darlene ended up, sticking up for Ruth and basically taking up heroin operations again with the mob...or going to war with them, I guess. It was left unclear. Helen was mostly great...and I like her a lot as an antagonist. She managed to seem both vulnerable and terrifying.
All in all im pleased with the season and the story so far.

Also...assuming it doesn't get canceled...I bought a ticket to a Rage Against the Machine concert at the end of july and Run the Jewels is playing with them....its one of their songs at the end of season 3, so im kind of excited about that.

Finished. Pretty f*cking good. Another solid season. The guy who played Wendy’s brother deserves an Emmy.

Finished. Pretty f*cking good. Another solid season. The guy who played Wendy’s brother deserves an Emmy. He has two Daytime Emmys already for the soap opera Guiding Light. He was great on Banshee a few years ago too. He was pretty great on Ozark so maybe he'll get a third. I love how the Byrdes kept getting deeper and deeper into the criminal world, this was my favorite season so far.

3 episodes in and it seems like the story is designed to have them make the dumbest decisions rather than getting out of predicaments.
I like watching how it unfolds but it's not the same feel as the first two seasons where they forced into the predicaments.

This latest season felt a lot more like the Byrds getting in their own way more than being stuck in a bad situation. Mostly that's due to Wendy leaning into the criminal life rather than against it tho imo. So it worked as a character story but I constantly wondered how they weren't either arrested or killed by the cartel for their ineptitude.

Is there a missing episode where Ruth had a lobotomy between seasons?

Just finished by torturing myself with two episodes in a row (Well I had to take a break and watch Great British Bake-Off in between them). Very well made in its predictability. I knew Helen was a goner the moment she asked her bodyguard whether he would warn her before he killed her. I didn't know it was going to be the ending though. The brother was annoying until the final couple of episodes and even then it felt conveniently ramped up to complete the story. Probably my last full season. I despise too many people now.
