I couldn't find a 5th actress performance I really liked - Turner was O.K. and I wasn't fond of K. Hepburn in SLS though I like most of her stuff.

I am not sure how the movie is underrated though. no one really talks about it nowadays, even from that very year you got bigger pictures which are more revered, for my money Ben-Hur had no business being as big at the oscars as it was.

Ben-Hur is a technical masterpiece and one of the greatest examples of bravura storytelling in the history of film imo. I like Anatomy of a Murder, but it isn't even close imo.

I usually just say which movie connected with me more and Ben-Hur is one of the most emotional and visually impressive movies I have ever seen. I assume it's place in cinema history is for similar reasons. Anatomy of a Murder might technically have the more relevant and important script, but that isn't the main reason I watch movies. Anatomy of a Murder may be underseen by the general public, but I think many critics consider it one of the 500 greatest movies ever made.

What do you think of the performances?. In Ben-Hur? Very good and I usually don't care for Charlton Heston as an actor. I think he nails it in Ben-Hur and the supporting cast is on point as well, especially Stephen Boyd's talk with Heston before his character dies. The scene where he is watching his mother and sister at the leper colony ruined me and Ii am a sucker for Biblical style stories even though I am an Athiest. Anatomy

but what would you say about the acting styles. It's probably what fascinates me most about t5he movie, the past, present, and future of acting all in one scene.
