An outstanding performance in dual roles ... Dirk Bogarde in Libel (1959) UK Dir. Anthony Asquith. An excellent mystery/courtroom saga, a compelling drama unfolds when a seemingly simple case of slander brought before the courts actually turns into a twisting case of stolen identity.... With distinct characterizations Bogarde brilliantly plays Sir Mark Loddon in the present setting, Sir Mark in the prison camp flashbacks, and Frank Welney... Olivia de Havilland, Paul Massie co-star...

Roger Moore in THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF (1970) A very good film. I didn't expect the pay off on the double trouble to play out so literally.

Danny Kaye made a career of multiple personalities. Firdt he was brillant with comic accents and comic timing. Second Samuel Goldwyn encouraged films with dual identities as a way to get the best use of Danny Kaye’s gifts. Third Goldwyn though dual identities allowed Kaye to use his manic ,slightly twee manic persona to comic purposes and also present a more serious mature ,firmly straight character.
Wonder man -Edwin Dingle, / Buzzy Bellew
On thé riviera - Jack martin/ / Henri Duran
Knock on wood - Jerry Morgan / Papa Morgan / Clarence
Films in which he was hypnotized, pretending to be someone else ,etc give him the chance to play dual role but not truly a second character. These include THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, and THE COURT JESTER, Finally, films in which the character experiences a life change include The five Pennies .

Morgiana (1972) Czechoslovakia Dir. Juraj Herz, Within a mansion of madness an exquisitely composed gothic melodrama/fractured fairy-tale plays out. Sumptuous detail produces delirious visuals creating a hallucinogenic, otherworldly atmosphere. The film is based on a short story by the Russian writer Aleksandr Grin and tells the tale of two sisters, dual roles both played by actress Iva Janžurová … Klara is carefree and happy, she dresses in lacy white/coloured clothes and is adored by everyone. Viktoria on the other hand harbours suppressed feelings of hatred and jealousy, she is dark and pale dressing mostly in black. Considered ugly Viktoria is disliked by all, the only sign of her having any real affection is the love she has for her Siamese cat, Morgiana...
