for the past 3 or so nights i have had this feeling of slight tickle in my right ear when i lay down. Originally i thought it was my hair getting inside, but thats not that for sure.
no pain, no itching, no burning sensation, just a slight and very annoying tickle. I went at it very gently with a cotton swab the first night, no help. the second night i dipped the cotton swab in a lotion SPECIFICALLY designed for treating ear infections and still no help. There doesnt seem to be any obstruction, no ear wax, no puss, nothing swollen, no dirt in it, nada.
Its only there when I lay down. Wtf is that. I did a brief google and one of the options is a bug crawled in, or spider layied its eggs there or something like that. This option obviously is the least favorable one and freaks me out a lot.
I have been at home for 2 months now, so I am kinda hoping it cannot be a bug or spider cause my house is clean and to my knowledge has no exotic insects that would do this. So barring ear invasion by a living organism, which makes me wanna slash my wrist, what could it be?
Anybody ever had a similar experience? Its just a tickle, and only appears when I lay down. When standing up, sitting down during the day, the problem is gone. but appears AS SOON AS I lay my head down. And then its there for most of the night, doesnt matter if I lay on it or on the other side.
Could be some sort of inner ear/ ear drum problem I am guessing, since it appears when I change balance/position. But google doesnt really say that would be the primary symptom. The tickle.
HILFE. HELP. AYUDA. AIDE MOIS. POMAGU MI. AIDES MOI.
The terror. And I cant really go to the doctor until I am back in Europe in 4 weeks, since my insurance is not good here right now. AArrgh....!
Any suggestions for a home remedy of a slight but persistent tickle in ear?

Disclaimer - I am not giving medical advice!
When my ear is feeling funky, I take a cotton ball, and put a little hydrogen peroxide solution on it, lay on my side, and squeeze the solution into the affected ear, and while I'm on my (other) side, let it just drip in for a few minutes. For me, it works to reach where I can't.
Again, disclaimer, I am in no way giving medical advise, I am just sharing what I personally do when I have a weird sensation in an ear that won't go away.

Any suggestions for a home remedy of a slight but persistent tickle in ear?Inner ear was the first thing I thought since it only happens when you change position. Since you don't have insurance, can you look up low cost clinics in your area? They often go by a sliding scale. An out of pocket doctor's appointment for me is a little over $100. You really should get it looked at since you don't know what it is, and your war is nothing play around with. If it was a bug I'd think you'd feel it more than you are, so I wouldn't worry about that

Google is the worst in this situation! You might just have some impacted wax or something affecting ear pressure. That could be why you feel it when you change position. I'd say flush it with some hydrogen peroxide, but since you don't know what it is, I wouldn't mess around with it.

I had a similar ear problem recently. I would get the same thing when I laid down. It was a slight tickle in my left ear which bugged the hell out of me. My first thought was that I got water in my ear when I took a shower. So I was very careful to let no water get in my ear. I wore an ear plug in the shower. That actually did seem to help a bit. But not completely. I still had the slight tickle but only in that one ear. I quit drinking two months ago. And voila! Since then I no longer have it. I have no clue why drinking was related. Or why it only affected one ear. Sorry I can't offer a solution. But since this ear irritation was plaguing me for almost two years when I went to bed at night, I thought I'd share. You really should consult a Otolaryngologist. That's an ear, nose, throat doctor. I agree. Wouldn't want to mess about with anything as sensitive as ears. As I understood her, she was looking for natural, home remedies to try "in the meantime, until she got home and her insurance coverage would kick in. I offered one such thing (sandwiched between legal disclaimers) that I personally do that works for me. Now I know we're being watched because when I went to another board, there was an advertisement showing some man using baby oil for tinnitus. Random ad I've never seen before? Curiouser and curiouser. Until she can get to a clinic that uses a sliding fee scale or treats patients at lower costs, figured we'd run some old school "remedies" by her to see if something might jump at her. Nothing like a frog or anything,...more like an interesting idea of something to try. Or at least something to think about. One thing is for sure: Don't look stuff up online!

They are right if it continues see a doctor. I am hearing impaired, I wear hearing aids in both ears. I am completely deft from 3000Hz to 5000Hz. You don't miss your hearing so much until it's gone.

I was going to suggest a gentle flush of salt water. This may not help if an infection is present though. Now, what you have commented about your insurance and a reason why you won’t go to the doctor is at the very core of why the US health care system is in desperate need of a massive over-haul. Not having a NHS and putting profit before people, even for a simple checkup is appalling and it is “terrifying” for me to think what many US citizens contend with. No wonder the US establishment is rotten and crumbling from within. exactly. its sickening and immoral. last time i went to the doctors here was 2 months ago for a check up, blood work and had atb prescribed because i was coughing a lot. The bill was 6500 usd. luckily at that time my insurance paid all but 150, but the bill itself was insane for blood work, 5 minutes with doctor and one ekg test. The atb itselt was 659 had i been uninsured at that time. crazy crazy crazy. and with insurance being So costly here and Still not covering all its just insane this is 2020 in a civilized country.

That’s exactly the symptoms. It tickles a little here and there then goes away then comes back. A quick trip to the ear nose and throat doctor could take care of it in 30 seconds if that's what it is. It happens when you turn on the one side with that ear facing up, right? Same thing has happened to me. I wouldn't start messing with q tips and all that because if it's wax it could just push that in further.

You feel it when you are laying in certain positions but then don't feel it when not lying down. You wouldn't really know for sure if it's wax because the doc would have to look all the way in. ONce I made the mistake of messing with it using a q tip and pushed it way way deeper in and the doc had to really dig deep. But This does not sound like an infection to me. I don’t want to really give advice because that is for a doctor but I would tend to want to avoid that sticking anything in your ear or trying any home remedies because it could make things worse because you do not know what the root of the problem is
