In their continuing quest to make IMDb less useful, they've changed the way images display so that grabbing the URL of an image takes more effort. Used to be you just needed to right-click on an image to view the image in a way that made grabbing the URL a snap. Now you need to jump through a few hoops first. For Firefox, here's the process: Right-click on the image and select View Page Info. Next click on the Media tab. Then scroll down until you see the file listed as Image in the right column. Click on that line to verify it's the image you want. Copy the Location line. Now you can put in the image. The process for other browsers would be similar, but Catman will leave it to others to post the details.

I checked, and in Seamonkey, the right-click and view image still work: But thank you for posting this. I used several IMDb images for the reverse quote thread you started. And the IMDb will be a valuable resource for any future reverse quote threads.

That's just slightly more work intensive than what we have to go through to post an image on these boards - sometimes to find later that they have all vanished.

It is amazing how the movie database (I do not speak its name for fear of conjuring it up) seems to want to drive users away.

It is amazing how the movie database (I do not speak its name for fear of conjuring it up) seems to want to drive users away. It was made totally useless for finding character names and characters played by several actors because they totally nuked the character listings... unless it was moved to a hidden bunker for safe keeping ! . Finding quotes is more of a rigamarole now. Have to wonder if it is used any more other than for filmographies and celebrity gossip.

And I thought I wouldn't have to type "Fuck Bezos" today.

Right clicking and clicking View Image works fine for me in Firefox. Maybe it's because I always copy the link from the Location Bar. This is from Tolkien (2019)

I'm using Opera/Opera mobile on Android and all I do is long press over an image to open it to it's direct url. No problems at all.

I don't know why you're having difficulty. Under firefox (desktop), I just right-click over an image on imdb, selected "Copy Image Location", and pasted the url into the Insert Image tool such as I did here.

So it turns out the problem only occurs when Catman is logged in to IBDb. Weird.

FWIW I have been having less trouble with IMDb images than I used to have. I can copy image address directly from the small thumbnails now .

It has happened. You can no longer right click and copy the image or its link. The new changes have taken effect on all movies, old and new. I'm unable to copy images using Chrome. But in Firefox it works the roundabout way. Just like Catman said by going into View Page Info.
