District 9 has the worst villains of any movie I have ever seen.
Cardboard would have been better.

Old Guard I couldn't even remember the name of the movie. I had to look it up. Netflix movies and me usually don't get along. They are often so basic and a big part of the reason for that is the bad guy. This guy was ridiculous.

Bennett with his Freddie Mercury look was hilarious. Bennett, boring? The guy completely steals the entire show, in every scene and not even in the ones we do see him, but still hear the sounds of his "chainmail vest", which is more than enough for me to crack up. At the time I think Bennett was a feeble villain compared to some others but he has the best lines in retrospect.
"I really love listening to your little piss-ant soldiers trying to talk tough. They make me laugh. If Matrix was here, he'd laugh too."

Tommy Gunn in Rocky 5
But I liked his monologue
Tommy, did your dad teach you to fight?
- No, not exactly. I had to... No, it's OK. You see, my old man, he used to drink a lot. Seriously. He'd go out with his friends, then he'd come home, look to punch on me. He'd punch on my mother, too. He did that a lot of times. So growing up, I only thought about fightin' my father. You know, when I was I got in trouble at school. He tied me down and whipped me so bad I couldn't walk for a week. I couldn't do anything. The first guy I ever knocked out was my father. In the ring, it's like all I see is him. That's kinda sick, huh?

Mullet Man did feel like a boring downgrade compared to the cartoon characters Rocky previously fought (Hulk Hogan, Clubber Lang, Drago). I'm trying to think who would have been a better opponent for the time. I suppose Steven Seagal would have been funny.

There's also the Don King character George Washington Duke so he was like the brain and Tommy Gunn was the brawn.
Too many times to the well. And yet he made a few more since then but the villain became old age.

Horned King from The Black Cauldron. I disagree. He was the best thing about that film.

Speaking of that actor and Netflix movie villains, he plays one of the many memorable villains in The Devil All the Time (2020). Harry Melling as a psychotic preacher. Robert Pattinson as a sociopathic Reverend Jason Clarke and Riley Keough as serial killers Sebastian Stan as a crooked cop I agree that his villain in The Old Guard is terrible though. Both the writing and his performance. I have mixed feelings about the movie itself.

Anyway, this guy is good. He was in Ballad of Buster Skruggs. This was just a paycheck movie that didn't require much of him.

Old Guard was definitely better. I'm glad we agree. Well...The effects were better in the other one, but it was not the better movie.

Horned King from The Black Cauldron. I disagree. He was the best thing about that film. The Horned King's character design in very good, he just doesn't get to do much. Most of the time Taran & co do not even seem to remember that THK exits. His undead army collapses almost right out of the gate. THK was probably much more menacing in the original screenplay and the early cuts of the film, before it was shortened to be more kid friendly.
