The way I look at it, this is cyber space and the correct response to an insult is to suggest that the other chap eat shit and hope that their hemorrhoids burst.
But complaining to the Admin? Seems a bit ball less.

No but I have been reported at least once.
I should add that I used to report back at the old place but I long since decided that it plays into their game and ultimately does nothing apart from adding to the drama. That said, if what is happening goes beyond insults I support the right to report.

Me too, and sadly mostly on UK sites.

I added a bit as I was thinking this question only applied to this place.

I must admit that the current proprietor seems inclined to throw the occasional queanie, but that is in the nature the folk who own internet forums. But the the bit that has always struck me is the number of folk who want to rush off and complain about Christ knows what. They are the same sort who used to run off and tell tales to the teacher, but off course in those days we could always stick their heads down the school loo. But we can't do that now because we are in cyber space.
It has not been all progress.

On the old imdb board yes.
Porn mostly. Lol
On the old soapbox I was reported regularly. For those of you who know me; that shows what the culture was like. It was used just to increase one's posting quota. Just to be mean.
One's posting quota would be so high people would just open a new account. It was crazy! So many sock accounts

So many sock accounts But on IMDb you needed a different email and credit card or phone number to open a new account. It was a royal pain. After I had gone through every credit card in my wallet and used my parent's and sister's and boyfriend's phone numbers, it became difficult. I was also part of The Resistance who vowed to never report based on ethical grounds of free speech.
It was crazy! Ahhhhhh I miss those problems. Lol Do you see the smoke from the Lake fire?

It was crazy! Ahhhhhh I miss those problems. Lol Do you see the smoke from the Lake fire? Yes, it's overcast and hazy but also hot and muggy. Yuck. I wish my mother had given birth to me in Colorado. I've never been entirely happy with SoCal weather though I was born and raised here. Here it was 111 yesterday and is suppose to be hotter today! That muggy feeling is awful. Would you like the snow in Colorado? I lived in Germany 2 years. I don't want to live with snow ever again! Do you smell the smoke!?

If EVERYONE just COMPLETELY ignored the few TRULY insufferable jerks whose ONLY goal is to get your, my, and anybody else's attention that they can, MOST of them would go away, and go away QUICKLY. But it (almost) NEVER seems to fail.....SOMEBODY feels the need to feed the troll, and they just keep on doing what they ALWAYS seem to be doing. YES, there are some that just will NOT go away even if EVERYBODY and their brother ignores them.......but personally, I like to believe that their "reward" will come in the next life, where they will end up earning minimum wage moderating chat boards as a 'career', trafficked by THOUSANDS of idiots FAR worse than they EVER were...... SAVE FERRIS

"This poster was mean to me."
Pretty sure that's there to discourage marking.

Like Enigma, I did once on the old boards.
It was the first day after the midnight release of the 2nd or 3rd of the Harry Potter books. I wasn't even reading the series, but so many people ... kids and adults ... were speculating what was going to happen at the end. It was really causing some excitement. Some JERK went on every board, and posted a one sentence conclusion of the plot. I was outraged at the meanness. So I reported him/her.
I have no idea if Admins cared about it, in the TOS scheme of things. But, I felt better.

That said, if what is happening goes beyond insults I support the right to report. That was me. That would be funny. I posted a picture I created by putting Ben's face onto Carrie's blood soaked body. He actually likes the picture but someone complained directly to ProBoards so it had to be acted on.

So many sock accounts I think after a time someone at IBDb realised that I was being maliciously reported because my posting quota stopped going up. Directly accusing people of reporting was yet another part of the trolling so I would still be accused of reporting even after I stopped and that led me to believe that some people reported themselves.

Why not ask Admin if anybody has ever reported people.

Stamm I wonder if the admin ever did look at the reporting. Lol I used to be able to see where external views of my Flickr picture came from and a small number did come from what looked like an administrative section of IMDb. That doesn’t mean the reporting system wasn’t largely automated but there had to be someone making sure it was still functioning.
