Anyone remember this? I barely do. I do remember playing the game released for the Nintendo Gameboy. ![](https://cdn.onebauer.media/one/empire-tmdb/films/14239/images/1NhXEkwCxO7tZ6dJ5lX7OhDX4Hr.jpg?quality=50&width=1800&ratio=16-9&resizeStyle=aspectfill&format=jpg)

Terrible, shit movie. The animation was somewhat interesting, but even that wore thin after about ten minutes.

Apparently the plan that Ralph Bakshi originally intended was for it to be a hard R-rated horror movie. Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that it was about some kind of mutated baby that would kill a lot of people (including the parents), and that Ralph Bakshi originally wanted Drew Barrymore to play Holli Would, but I guess she was not thought of as a big enough name back then, and of course Kim Basinger is rumored to have wanted it to be more of a "family movie". And I guess there were also some rather heavy difficulties going on between Bakshi and producer Frank Mancuso Jr. which might have made things not a whole lot easier. ![](https://i.imgur.com/4YhVXNc.gif) Still, I do have some love for this film, while a very "uneven" plot, the sleazy adult themed animation and tone, along with one of the hottest animated female characters (Holli Would) plus a rather interesting soundtrack makes it into a not so horrible experience, even if it drags on after Holli Would leaves the Cool World and enters the real world, which I have never liked, as it seems very rushed and clumsy. Anyway, I rated it with a very generous 5/10, mostly because of the animation (still far away of being among the best of what Bakshi had done previously) and the crazy Cool World setting.
