Do you yourself think that the Los Angeles Lakers 2020 NBA Championship counts given the circumstances of how the Entire Season overall went for everybody and that they played and won it in the NBA Bubble ?

I think it counts. The World Series should get a big giant asterisk though.

We're still doing this? It counts. If the conversation is about comparing titles to other years, it's not as impressive, but it counts. Covid struck with a few weeks left in the regular season, it wasn't a sham of a season like MLB.

Yes. Living in a hotel room for nearly 80 days in a row, while working. Nearly every opponent was fully healthy & dealing with the exact same conditions. Never will another such a league-wide neutral site exist in the NBA. 2021 owners want teams back in their buildings, even if it means no fans yes?
Same for the TB Lightning.
Bubbles aren't overrated btw, they're underrated. MLB & NFL can't keep their f'n COVIDIOTS from postponing games.

I think it counts. The World Series should get a big giant asterisk though. Agreed. Lakers played I think at least 67 games out of 82, that’s a big difference from playing 60 out of 162.

Of course it counts, though from here on in everyone will look at 2020 as some kind of weird episode of our sitcom of life.
Years from now, we will be saying about anything that happened in 2020 that "well, it was 2020".
Like it counts, kind of.....

How many games will LA/TB have won in the playoffs to be crowned World Series champs compared to last year's winner?

It's the most important, meaningful championship in sports history.

It's the most important, meaningful championship in sports history. If you're talking about one that was won in a gym with the atmosphere of a YMCA, then you are absolutely right.

Well I myself do indeed think that it counts (to be completely honest though, I am also a Lakers Fan) but I do know that there are a lot of other people out who feel that it either should not count or it should count but with an asterisk next to it because of how the season went down, the long break that happened, and the fact that the location of both the remainder of the season and the entire NBA Playoffs took place inside of the NBA Bubble.

Not an asterisk, but when you're comparing roads to a title it's hard to argue this was a difficult one for the better teams to navigate. No travel, no hostile crowds, no distractions. Rowdy home crowds influence refs and give energy to players, enough to swing one game which can swing a series. When you don't have that atmosphere, it all comes down to star players getting calls and yes, outplaying the other team. I'm not saying the Lakers didn't earn the title, there's no asterisk for me. But was this championship as memorable, as difficult as 2010 or 1985 for example? That's the only distinction I would draw as a fan. If the C's had won, I'd take the tile and run. But I wouldn't view it the same way I view 2008 or 1984. It's a letdown is all I'm saying. Like having to obliterate the Rockets in 86 because the Lakers didn't want to be humiliated by the Celtics in the finals and bowed out early.

There's a certain team out there who had the best home court record in the league last year.
All they would have done in each series was steal one game on the road per series and it was all she wrote.
These playoffs and Finals were more like a carnival/circus - cute lil event to try to bring some revenue in - wouldn't have surprised me if they had rules like OT's consisted of who could make the most half court shots, who could have scored the most points blindfolded in OT, etc
But congrats to the Lakers - they did what they needed to do - kind of reminded me of those cute lil NCAA Basketball Tourney's we get at the beginning of the year - like the Maui Invitational, The Alaska Shootout, etc etc where a select few teams are invited to play...

They got swept on a neutral court, how would they have won a road game?
