I enjoyed the last "Evil dead" film... Hoping this one will be similar.

Urban setting, eh? I'll keep positive, being that this series has yet to disappoint (I even loved the remake and Ash Vs. The Evil Dead) but I hope they're not going to veer too far off the formula here. Granted, Army of Darkness broke the formula well and good, but that was with Sam Raimi at the helm.

If they're set on a female protagonist they already had a great one from the series. Why not continue with that? I know those characters aren't as widely known, but that was a strong cast, and bringing in a female lead isn't new since the show already had two of them.

I admittedly haven't watched the Starz series. But am a fan of Lucy Lawless. She was great in the "Spartacus" series.

Good luck topping Evil Dead (2013), that thing was a beast!

I didn't like the 2013 version and remember the sound effects were a mix of random, music choices thoughtless, the horror sequences repetitive, and likened it to a TV dinner. The visual effects were terrific though. I'm sure the reboot will live up to the factory made standards of the previous one.

What happened to the Raimi/Campbell one they were talking about? Meh.

1- "The Evil Dead" (1981) is not a "zombie film". 2- There are NO zombies in Evil Dead. 3- There are no "evil spirits" in Evil Dead.

I'd never question your credentials as the resident Evil Dead expert here, but... Evildead.fandom.com says that, "The Kandarian Demon is an ancient demonic spirit..."

Yeah, they took that from my website LOL.
There are no evil spiritS... it's one demon. Spirits are ghosts, on a side note. The Kandarian Demon is a demon, and it's ONE.

Really? That's funny, and kinda cool. And I really don't care, and don't need to get too into the semantics here, but I fail to see how a demonic spirit is not an evil spirit.

"Evil spirit" could be confused with a ghost IMHO. The Kandarian Demon is a very powerful ENTITY able to possess humans, animals, vegetables, objects. It's much more than a simple "spirit". It's a force from another dimension.

The Kandarian Demon can possess two human people at ONE time:
1- Cheryl and Shelly 2- Cheryl and Linda 3- Cheryl and Scott 4- Henrietta and Ed 5- Henrietta and Ash's hand (when the hand attacks Bobby Joe) 6- Henrietta and Ash 7- The two Deadites in the Pit.
Except for the Army of Darkness itself, as well as the last episode of AvED Season 3.
