Finalists for Trevor Bauer - per Mark Feinsand Mets Dodgers
Also per Feinsand -
'The Phillies and Cardinals are each actively looking at free-agent starting pitchers, per sources. Jake Odorizzi, James Paxton and Taijuan Walker are the top remaining starters.'

Bob Nightengale (and others) reporting that Bauer to the Mets is a done deal. No details yet, I saw earlier that it was a multi-year deal with an opt out after year 1. More to come. Not my favorite guy, but a rotation of deGrom, Bauer, Carrasco, Stroman and ultimately Syndergaard is nothing to sneeze at.
EDIT: Subsequent tweets from other beat writers saying the deal is NOT done. Oh boy.

Heyman tweeting that Bauer will sign with the Dodgers. I'm happy the Mets aren't paying $40m for a loudmouth prick who has had a grand total of 1.33 good seasons under his belt against 5 mediocre ones.

Didn't he say he was only going to sign 1 year deals to maximize his salary?

Nice addition for the Dodgers as the Padres added to an already really strong team this offseason, but Bauer is just one of those guys who is impossible to root for.

Is it likely the NL West will have two 100 win teams? Not "is it possible?" But is it more likely than not. It's happened 4 times since divisions became a thing. I say yes. It is likely, and I'll be very surprised if it doesn't.

Bauer: 3 years, 102 mill. Opt outs after this year and the next, heβll make 40 and 45 mill the next two seasons.
This screams bust.

It's just crazy to me the amount of money he has been demanding considering his career. He's been bad (yes, bad, not just not great) way more often than not. In 2018 he was great, I'll give him that. Last year he was also great, BUT......in 11 starts, he made 2 against Detroit, 3 against the Brewers, 2 starts against the Pirates and a start against KC. The other 3 starts were against the Cubs (2) and the ChiSox. He didn't have any start where he was outright shelled (his worst start was in Milwaukee where he gave up 4 runs). I know, you can only beat the teams you face and all that, but still. That's 8 starts against some of the worst offensive teams in baseball. I don't want this to come across as sour grapes or anything, from the getgo I've said I didn't want the Mets to get him but would accept it if they did (as if I have a choice or a say in the matter), but I just don't buy him as this kind of pitcher. I guess it'll be easier for him as he's joining the best team in baseball so if he doesn't perform, it won't really be catastrophic for the team.

there was a few before 1969. Dodgers-Giants in 1962, Indians-Yankees in 1954, Dodgers-Cardinals in 1942 off the top of my head

The first three times, the battle for top of the division was the end of that team's season: Yankees got knocked out by the Royals in 80, Phillies beat the Braves in 93, and the Yankees knocked out the Mariners in 01 (after winning in the first round).

Braves bring back Marcell Ozuna on a 4-year, $65m contract, with a 5th year option. I guess the Braves feel that the universal DH will be here before long because whereas he once was a viable outfielder with a strong arm, he currently grades out as one of the worst outfielders in the game, and only appeared in 20 games in the outfield last year. Still, he's so good offensively, I guess it doesn't matter.

King Felix signed minor-league $1 mil deal with the O's. Norfolk Tides, I would assume.
