Just under a year on and after rigorous testing and trials, Covid vaccination begins with one which is 90-95% effective, the first out of several coming. A great day for science and humanity.
Followers of this sort of news may also wish to know that a general vaccine for regular flu (ie a treatment which is not affected by the characteristic mutation of the virus each season) is estimated to be ready in a couple of years.

I leave the non-sequiturs to you. You know that's relative, right? Yes, and more important what's relevant - but thank you for pointing it out anyway.

I turned on my key ignition in my car and thanks to scientific engineering, it turned on! My faith in science worked!

I turned on my key ignition in my car and thanks to scientific engineering, it turned on! My faith in science worked! Yeah, well, the Service Engine Soon light keeps turning on in Catman's car even though there's nothing wrong with the engine according to the mechanics. Clearly a failure of science!

No Arlon, no Erjen, who the heck are we supposed to argue with? We seem to be having actually thoughtful exchanges of ideas with no drama or trolling... has hell frozen over? Well... we did have that polar vortex. It sure felt like hell had frozen over. Edit: It's been an interesting day on the RFS board, only four threads active, but all were thoughtful exchanges of ideas. No fights, no ad hominem usage... hmmm... (Twilight Zone music)

He is definitely all about demons! Not sure if it is about demons or a metaphor. Edit: Just saw how many threads he started yesterday... is he on crack cocaine?!?

I don't care about this board, this topic, or religion as a whole. But this screamed me posting this year, someone has to. Science has failed our world, science has failed our Mother Earth!

I don't care about this board, this topic, or religion as a whole. But this screamed me posting this year, someone has to. Science has failed our world, science has failed our Mother Earth! Yeah, it screams, for sure. I couldn't understand the lyrics so I have no idea what point was being made. My reaction is this; I don't think science has failed us, I think we have failed to embrace the science. The willful disregard for common and easy methods to avoid spreading a virus is just mind-boggling. The politicizing of a pandemic virus, also mind-boggling. The evidence of what is happening to our world has been documented in scientific study. Humans have failed to take it seriously and attempt anything to stop it. JMHO...
