Seriously, he looked like he threw that game. You can't play that poorly by accident. He played like someone was in his back pocket. What a disgraceful showing by Harden and the Rockets in general. Talk about having no heart and no pride.

Stephen A: "There needs to be an investigation. He looked like he was drugged out there. Somebody might have slipped something in his drink."

Agreed. So the NBA MVP is either a maniac ballhog 6 seed whose team didn't make it out of the first round or a choke artist who didn't show up and his team lost an elimination game at home by 40 points.

Doesn't he have a history of sucking in big games?

Doesn't he have a history of sucking in big games? As Chauncey Billups said at halftime, shooting 1-10 would be understandable, you're just having a bad night. Dude was 1-2 at the half. He took his first shot midway through the 2nd qtr. How many triple doubles did he have this season? He is the offense of that team. It's highly suspicious. Though I suppose his way of choking is taking himself completely out of the game mentally, I don't know.

He'd get depressed trying to defend you and me at this point, defense isn't exactly his thing. Kidding aside, it's just one of those odd things. Sometimes you see moments in sports that make you question whether the guy is on the take. A play or a call that is so dumb or blatantly wrong that it defies all reason. But this was an entire game. 2-11, with all those bad turnovers? MVP candidate James Harden?

After the game he partied all night and ended up at a strip club, makin it rain! MVP! MVP! www.tmz.com/2017/05/12/james-harden-club-rockets-playoffs-mvp-chant/

Wow, so he legitimately quit on his team because he was unhappy with a coaching decision. That's far worse than choking in my (and I would think anyone's) book. Disgraceful.
Though I suppose this makes Westbrook's inevitable MVP a little less sleazy? Sure he was gunning for it and not making his teammates better, but I'll take that over a guy who quits any day.

Talk about having no heart and no pride. Harden has three more years on his contract, 89.5 million total. Then he's a FA at age 30. Now how much money do you think he would want to throw a game/series? To risk every damn nickel of that and future millions? Children, the days of buying players like the 1919 Black Sox is OVER. You can buy referees, maybe. Blackmail might be possible, but Harden would have had to machine gun a nursery school to risk that much.

Doubtful he was bought, but my problem with all sports is how much guaranteed loot the players get. I know it's different in each sport, but to say you get guaranteed money for years to come is crazy, especially baseball where it's 100% guaranteed. All incentive and pressure to perform well is off. And, of course, it's just a coincidence that so many players have their best season in a walk year.

Wow, so he legitimately quit on his team because he was unhappy with a coaching decision. Disgraceful. Here in NY we have seen this happen. JR Smith was unhappy over a coaching comment that JR shoots too much, so he took one shot the entire game. That was a funny one watching the post game guys explaining why JR didn't shoot. Injury. Didn't get good looks. Looking to help the team with assists. Next day we found out JR was pouting and took it out on his coaching staff. The guy who takes 700 shots a quarter, took one shot all game. Melo also did something like that once here in NY.

Guys, this is what fn Houston does.
Game 7...we lost by 40, nothing new. (TMac and Dallas I think). Houston chokes, Im used to it. This is how we roll, we got 2 back to back NBA titles, it is why Hakeem is a "god" here. Nothing new.

Houston, youd think, we are, if my memory serves me correctly, either the 3-5thish biggest city in America, you think we'd be like the Spurs of the NBA, the Cowboys/NE or the NFL, and at least have a few MLB titles to show. 0 NFL rings (And I know, Texans are a new franchise, remember, we were the Oilers, who were the Titans, WE NEVER MADE A SUPERBOWL, Titans leave, and kaboom, enters a superbowl. They lost, but 1 yard short in what I thought it a top 5 super bowl of all time).. Made the world series ONCE....going 0-4. Hey, we did get those two NBA titles. It is just heart breaking man.

Agreed. So the NBA MVP is either a maniac ballhog 6 seed whose team didn't make it out of the first round or a choke artist who didn't show up and his team lost an elimination game at home by 40 points. This is why I've been saying Kawhi Leonard should be MVP. You don't give the MVP to a guard who averages 6 turnovers a game, and you don't give the MVP to a player who is such a ball hog he makes Kobe Bryant look like John fucking Stockton. Not to mention Westbrook literally ripped rebounds from his own big men all season, and has been seen arguing with official scorers to give him extra assists or rebounds to get more triple doubles. That is straight up bullshit, the definition of a guy who cares only about his stats. As for Harden, Mike D'Antoni was the major reason the Rockets had a good year, but D'Antoni's system doesn't work well in the playoffs. His teams are good for some early-round wins, but when they face teams like the Spurs it's like running into a brick wall. nutsberryfarm 🏜 - Only the ignorant have bad things to say about Chris Paul. He averaged 25.3 ppg, 9.9 apg, 5.0rpg, 1.7 spg, and shot 50% from the floor in his 7 postseason games this year. He has been excellent in every postseason. The Clippers lost because 1) Blake Griffin got injured, again, 2) There is literally only one other guy in the starting lineup (Redick) who can score, and he was awful, and 3) The Clippers bench is disgustingly bad, with Jamal Crawford, Raymond Felton, Paul Pierce, and Daddy's Boy Austin Rivers. The fact that the Clippers pushed it to 7 games was a minor miracle in itself with that shitty squad. Paul needs to go to the Spurs. marco26 @ NxNWRocks - JR Smith is the definition of the chronically lazy player who is guaranteed to show up out of shape, uninspired, and completely useless after he's been rewarded with a new contract. Yes, you're right marco, we did see this exact behavior when JR Smith was on the Knicks. The Cavs were stupid to give him a contract at all, let alone one that pays $15 million/year. Smith is lazy, a locker room headache, a jerk, and he has more mental lapses than an Alzheimer's patient. $15 million a year for a player who stops defending his man so he can jog over and high-five a guy on the bench.
