Saw this on Twitter. Take a player who had an injury prone career or suffered a significant injury and magically give them a healthy career. Who do you pick? I think the answer is clearly Bo Jackson. Who ya got?

I didn't think of Bias because he never had a career at all. I'd add Reggie Lewis to the list. Tom Brady threw 50 TDs the season before his knee injury. If he doesn't go down in week 1 of 2008, he surely has another 40 TDs right now (and maybe another title). Other ideas: Grant Hill Penny Hardaway Bill Walton

Mike Bossy only played 10 years due to a terrible back injury that shortened his career. In those 10 years, he scored 573 goals, 553 assists and was +380.

Mark Prior
I’m convinced that if injuries didn’t derail his career, his name would be spoken among the all time greats.

Don Mattingly was one of the top all around players in the game for a 6 years stretch before injuries slowed him down.
I don't know if "injuries" count for these guys, but Doc Gooden and Darryl Strawberry. Gooden in particular.
Schilling had a HOF-worthy career as it was, but if memory serves, he was ALWAYS hurt during the first bunch of years when he was with the Orioles and Phillies. He didn't really come into his own until his late 20s, maybe even not until he was 30 if I'm not mistaken.

RG III is another intriguing answer. If injuries didn’t derail him, would the league have caught up to him?

I think the original Tweet that I saw just said “healthy” so sure, eliminating drug issues should count.

In that case, Lawrence Taylor could have played longer and better through his final years and been the best defensive player in the history of the league, considering he's already on the shortlist.

Does death count as an injury? If so I nominate Pelle Lindbergh

That's superhuman.

Not sure his career has been derailed by injuries. What does he have, 3 rings? 4? Either way, he’s overcome.

Not sure his career has been derailed by injuries. What does he have, 3 rings? 4? Either way, he’s overcome. Three. He was injuried literally the moment he hit his prime, most of which was lost. Might not be as bad as some (Bo knows), but he'd certainly have had a more outstanding career, further distancing himself from Ovechkin. And it was preventable.
