Captain America 4 is Happening, with Sam Wilson taking on the mantle, per the finale.

Am I supposed to be shocked by this? Because I already saw this coming.

Cool. I kind of expected that after Endgame. Not sure why we needed an entire miniseries just to come back to that point.

I like Sam as Cap.
Or at least I did. What was the love he felt for Karli the killer?

Here's my issue with this. I'm not convinced Anthony Mackie is a good enough actor to carry a movie this big. Had this been Michael B. Jordan or Chadwick Boseman or Idris Elba then I'd be a lot more excited for it.

I like him as Falcon quite a bit and all, but admittedly even I would be more interested if they announced a War Machine movie with Don Cheadle. And I'm a guy that preferred Terence Howard.

The times I watched Mackie in a leading role (like Altered Carbon) he just seemed a tad bit too dry. A bit monotonous. Even here in TFATWS, a good chunk of the gravity onscreen was carried by Zemo, Bucky and Isaiah. Sam worked out well because he had these other characters to work off from. I like him as Falcon just fine but I don't think he has the screen presence to play leading man in a huge blockbuster. Though to be fair, I used to think the same of Hemsworth till we got Ragnarok.

Hemsworth could always carry a blockbuster the only thing I agree with you on is Anthony who is very vanilla. I'm sure Anthony is a nice guy but he isn't leading man material to me.

Have you seen Hemsworth's earlier movies outside of his MCU ones? Blackhat, Red Dawn, The Huntsman, etc.? They were pretty flat. His Thor movies worked because he had Tom Hiddleston to play off of. But like I said, Hemsworth eventually matured into the role and I'm now eager to see him in more leading parts.

I've watched those yes the mystical ability to carry a blockbuster is an irrelevant term to me. Yes Chris Hemsworth is good.

I think Mackey can hack it at this point, and I think the MCU is moving away from leading-man syndrome in general. So long as they change the costume, I'm down for a Sam Wilson-lead Captain America 4. Right now, he looks like a giant - American-themed - marshmallow.

Also it will probably be more of an Avengers film, like Cap 3 was.

I feel like Bucky will be paired up with Sam again.
Those two work well together surprisingly.

I just don't think Mackie is able to layer his performance with a lot of nuance nor does he have a lot of screen presence. He's not a bad actor exactly, I just don't think he'll be able to fill the shoes of a CA4 movie. I'd much rather they do a season 2 of TFATWS.

Jordan is a good actor, but I guess I'm in the minority that thought he was lousy in Black Panther. The story begins in the 90s, but it felt like he thought his adult character's storyline also took place in the 90s. The mannerisms and lingo were cringeworthy at times. "Is the mask vibranium?" "Nah, I'm just feelin' it."
