The review embargo is supposed to end tomorrow, so I thought it would make sense to make a thread for it.

Currently at 97% fresh which is obviously great.
BO is apparently tracking for even lower than BOP so this should be interesting to watch.

Especially since it’s rated R and they didn’t even bother to really change the name so people are confused anyway.

Currently at 98%. That's probably the highest rating I've ever seen a DCEU movie get.

Those that are open aren't all operating at full capacity. And even when they are, there's a good chunk of people out there who're still not willing to go mingle in the movie theaters. That said, being available to watch for free is going hurt it a lot.

Back up to 100% with 46 reviews. Whoa, that’s bloody awesome but it’s higher than I expected even with James Gunn at the helm. I just kind of braced for a lot of backhanded praise like “well it’s better than the first one” or something similar.

I thought Gunn was canceled for making Pedo jokes, all forgiven if a lefty?

The review for Variety does give a few spoilers, as I myself discovered. Though they seem to be stuff that a couple of us guessed at, namely that the first team gets wiped out in the first half of the movie (after Pete Davidson's character betrays them apparently) and that Gaius Grieves aka The Thinker (Peter Capaldi) is the human antagonist.

One of the first reviews I read said it was “derivative”…
I don’t know of what, but I was hoping for something really big and insane without a description like that. I’m getting a little tired of movies basing their success off of other movies.
That’s my only reservation about it, though. It seems like it should be a fun and cool movie to kick back and watch in theaters with some buddies.

The most negative critic complains that the jokes are offensive. 🙄

The most negative critic complains that the jokes are offensive. 🙄 Yeah, you know, I complain about critic reactions and only agree with them about a quarter of the time. Maybe I should stop reading reviews at all. That might be smart.

I wonder if the audience score will match critics or if it’ll be another BP situation.

I was underwhelmed. Doesn’t seem to be a popular opinion on the internet this morning but none of the jokes worked for me, and I didn’t care for Peacemaker or Ratcatcher.
Harley was perf tho. ❤️
