pretty good...jumps around a bit much... I really want to read this but the jumping around too much scares me. I hate it when they do this, it's either bad writing or padding the book.

Foreword by MLB legend Rick " Wild Thing" Vaughn? Damn that sounds like a must buy and I don't even watch baseball.

Just started reading it. Good but Iโm assuming the majority is about the World Series because they danced the the regular season quickly. Moe Drabowsky to the rescue!

pretty good...jumps around a bit much... Welp, almost done with this book. You're right about padding. The Astros stuff doesn't even start until page 123, we hve to go through the history of cheating and then there's way way too much stuff about what happened in games which has nothign to do with the Astros cheating. This was a magazine article drawn out to be a book, a rough read. I'm at the end now. Honestly though, how the f is Cora managing in the Majors right now? I swear all these f/ing cheaters just get rewarded for being cheating douchebags. All of them. Baseball has no accountability in any shape or form.

Yeah, way too much stuff that has nothing to do with the Astros cheating. I hate books like this. Still, it's good that this is documented for history. One thing I like that I learned was Tony Kemp wouldn't cheat. he's on the A's now and I like him for that. I hope that this hurts Altuve's HOF chances. if juicers don't get in for cheating, anyone who was apart of this fiasco should definitely be penalized.

Yep. Almost unbelievable the shit that Prince Hal got away with. I still think that's why the 1919 Series was thrown. "Hey, Chase gets away with it all the time. Why shouldn't we cash in?"
Another amazing fact, in 1937, Chase got 18 HOF votes, more than 32 future HOFers. Like voting Hitler into the Jewish HOF.

TheGoodMan19 this sounds fun, read it? "The Wax Pack: On the Open Road in Search of Baseball's Afterlife," by Brad Balukjian (University of Nebraska Press). Balukjian, a biology teacher and childhood baseball card collector, set out on an unusual quest. He bought an unopened pack of 1986 Topps baseball cards, opened it, and tracked down the 14 players whose cards were in the pack (card No. 15 was a checklist). The resulting road trip is an entertaining, often surprisingly honest journey for the writer and his subjects, exploring their lives in and after the game. Among the most engaging chapters are those on two players with '86 Brewers cards: pitcher Jaime Cocanower, whose time in the game was always uneasy (and whose wife has some choice words for Brewers management), and third baseman Randy Ready, who keeps coming back.
