Gargoyles Season 2 (1995-96)
Well, it took a bit longer than I had hoped for, but finally gotten through all the 52 episodes and gotta be honest, this one turned into quite the letdown after the terrific first season. Of course, the whole "filler gap" stories of the gang travelling their world tour, and which ended up dominating most of the season, did feel like you as well were part of the neverending journey, trying to get back home to Manhattan. Instead Avalon always seemed to have a better idea, throw you onto some country or city, in order to deliver another forgettable or boring "adventure". I guess this one also borrowed heavily from Batman: The Animated Series, in which a lot of the villains return, some seems to try to get their act together and start up fresh, others obviously use this as a way of doing more nasty stuff. However, even though there were times I was really tired of it all, I never felt this second season had any moments I would describe as "bad", maybe bland is a better way of describing it. Still, the animation and voice talent is all there, and when they finally did return back home, the quality and entertainment went straight up again. But then again, first season was only 13 episoder, of which were truly great most of them. So I was kind of prepared that so much more episodes, would most likely come with lots of not so great ones. Anyway, it seems like season 3 is titled: Goliath Chronicles and also last for only 13 episodes. So I sure hope they will be of some quality here and there, but would love to see if the entire series would some day be given a new Blu-ray release. 6/10

THE AVENGERS - A Surfeit of H20 -- A wine company is the cover for a scheme to test a rain-making device to be sold as a weapon to the highest bidder.
MANNIX- Falling Star - Mannix is hired to protect a movie star seeking a comeback. Has a revelation of someone trying to murder someone because they were told they have only two months to live. The highlight really is that Mannix gets into two fights.
CANNON "That's No Lady." A defense attorney is almost killed by a car bomb and Frank has to babysit her clients while finding out who is behind the murder attempts. He also is forced to inspect a fridge for something to drink while passing the time and strongly disapproves of their canned beer. It cost 10 cents to use a pay phone in 1972.

Re: Mannix he gets beaten up as usual and later he is talking to his boss and asks what the other agents came up with and Wickersham says
the agent "didnt have a clear view but he thinks someone got a beating in the garden"
and so Mannix says: "I had a clear view."

THE ADVENTURES OF HUCK FINN - The Terrible Tempered Khaleef -- Cute kids show to revisit.
DIAGNOSIS MURDER Shanda's Song - A famous singer is targeted by a fan with threatening letters. But is it really what it appears to be? Of course not!

THE ROCKFORD FILES The Big Rip-Off - The show is very entertaining but it feels too short. I think the stories have to be cut down to get it under 60 minutes.

Gargoyles - Season 3 (1996-97)
Also known as The Goliath Chronicles, I guess meant as a Spin-off containing of 13 episodes, and which sadly feels far too early, like a watered down version of the two first full seasons. And while also some of the animation lacks in places, it never falls totally off the cliff, and included a few good episodes, where The Dying Of Light probably were among my favorites. 5/10

Saturday Night Live. Finished Season 6. On the last 2 eps they had Bill Murray and Chevy Chase guesting respectively, perhaps in desperation since the new cast was apparently getting panned (the original Not Ready for Prime Time players were a tough act to follow). The addition of Eddie Murphy was a big plus. Though a lot of season 6 is cut out on Peacock, they surprisingly left in Charles Rocket's infamous F-Bomb.

THE INVADERS "Storm"- Once again, David VIncent almost buys it because he doesn't carry any weapon. Joseph Campanella is a priest being used by aliens to hide their scheme for manipulating the weather to cause hurricanes. Somehow he never noticed the big computer in the wall of the church.
MANNIX - "License to Kill-Limit Three People" Mannix seeks an escaped mental patient wanted for killing a cop and two others.
CANNON - "Stakeout " This was a really good episode. Frank is asked to watch over a bar as it has been hit by robberies a few times. While watching from behind a one way window, Mike Farrell leaves a table he is at with a girl, and attempts to rob the place. Frank stops him-but not before the girl jumps up and Farrell shoots her in the arm before escaping.
Frank tells her everything will be fine once she tells the police about the man.
"What man?" she says.
Her father, a bigwig private investigator with an international business (Patrick O'Neal) shows up and sweettalks Cannon with their shared histories as ex-cops. He tells Cannon that once he has some words with his daughter, everything should be fine. But when Frank talks to her next, she not only says there is no man--she now says that Frank shot her.
So Frank has to spend his time looking trhrough mugshots in the hope of finding Farrell, even skipping meals to do it (something his police friend had to see for himself).
O'Neal begins threatening Cannon and the witnesses to keep them silent--since any scandal with his daughter would harm his business.
Finally, Cannon finds Farrell in a picture and his cop friend immediately picks up the phone---"Put out an APB!"
Frank also picks up the phone and barks into it:
"This is Frank Cannon. It is urgent. I want the number of the nearest delicatessen that delivers!"

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Season 1 (2012)
Where most of the big movie attempts of updating or following the classic 1990 film for the past 20 years or more, has usually gone wrong, it is such a nice pleasant surprise to then "stumble" upon this animated tv-show, which seems to combine the more fun and colorful style of the 1987-1996 series, along with the more serious and darker from the early 00s, and somehow make it all into maybe the most enjoyable Turtles show I have ever seen. Not sure why it took me so long until looking it up, as I have picked up season 1 and 2 on DVDs, but that was 3-4 years back, and I guess maybe because Nickelodeon and the design made the Turtles look kind of too "childish", boy was I wrong. First season is a must for any Turtles fan, both of the old and the newer ones, and I fell completely in love with the characters and setting from very early on. Impressed at how the manage to rarely put the foot wrong during most of the first season, and always make sure to keep the viewers on their toes. Also this one is a whole lot of fun for the older audience as well, as there is so many enjoyable referances to older shows and films, not just big commercial ones, but cult films like Revenge of The Ninja (1983) or C.H.U.D. (1984) then one of the main baddies is pretty much Chuck Norris, and yeah the villains is creepy and evil and I am very much looking forward to seeing way more of this great show. 8,5/10

SARGE "A Push Over the Edge" Vic Morrow guest stars as a cop associate of Sarge who is being driven crazy by a serial killer case. At times this feels like a 70s noir movie the way they show the night streets with Morrow cruising in search of the killer.
HARRY O "Second Sight" Stephanie Powers is a psychic and best-selling murder writer who predicts a murder before it happens. So perfect is her predictions the police begins to suspect she is involved. Trouble is, she's blind. But Harry learns that she has "hysterical blindness," which means she is technically not blind, but her mind blocks her from seeing due to a shock. Can Harry create another shock so she can see again? Take a guess.

PETROCELLI - Chain of Command -- John Ritter, scout master, is accused of murdering a general. His troop raises money to hire Tony to represent him. Tony gets chased by a helicopter.
PROJECT UFO - The Washington DC Incident - various sightings of UFOs occur over one night leading to a crash of an air force plane. The wife of the pilot made me think of Dana Scully because of her red hair and also the fact that this show was a forerunner for the X-Files. She seemed vaguely familiar but only after the end credits did I realize she was Kate Tanner on ALF. Yo Brian!

CANNON "Bitter Legion" Cannon joins a gang of ex-Vietnam vets (one of whom is a Monkee) planning to rob a stadium payroll.
MADIGAN: The London Beat - This was a short-lived show but it was quite good, especially when they decided to send Richard Widmark to Europe.
"Hey you're doing great constable. You're a regular English Sherlock Holmes!"
"Sherlock Holmes is English sir."
"Oh yeah-that's right."

I started watching the first season of Columbo. Episodes 1-4. Murder by the Book, Death Lends a Hand, Dead Weight, & Suitable For Framing. Had only planned to watch the first two episodes for the night, but went ahead with another two. Had no idea Steven Spielberg directed episode one. All four episodes had good sparring/battle of the wits matches between Falk and his guest stars with the likes of Jack Cassidy, Robert Culp, and Ross Martin. ‘Dead Weight’ was the only episode where i felt it got a little distracted, and meandered, especially when Falk wasn’t on screen. But the series bounces back superbly with ‘Suitable For Framing’.

MANNIX -Time Out of Mind--Mannix helps a prize fighter accused of murder.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE - The Condemned---For once the show doesn't start with Phelps and a tape-in this case he is helping a friend accused of murder. This was an all guys episode--the team was only the men. I liked it.
RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS - I have to admit--I almost shut it off after 5 minutes because when I heard Adam West sounding rather weak in voice I thought--oh no this is going to be bad. I think they should have cranked up the voice volume a little but I was pleasantly surprised as I stuck with it--and had a smile on my face while watching--because it was such a well-done revisit of the 60s show. Very good script with lots of easter eggs and clever ways of incorporating the 80s Batman persona into the story. Not much to complain about but I wish they had a better Burgess Meredith impersonator because the guy doing the Joker did a great Romero impression.
