This revenge thriller tells the story of an ex-military interrogator (Oscar Isaac) turned gambler haunted by the ghosts of his past. Also starring Tye Sheridon, Tiffinay Haddish and Willem Dafoe.
5. Red Rocket
Mikey Saber (Simon Rex) is a washed-up porn star who returns to his small Texas hometown, not that anyone really wants him back.
6. Come True
A teenage runaway (Julia Sarah Stone) takes part in a sleep study that becomes a nightmarish descent into the depths of her mind and a frightening examination of the power of dreams.
7. Dune
Feature adaptation of Frank Herbert's science fiction novel, about the son (Timothée Chalamet) of a noble family entrusted with the protection of the most valuable asset and most vital element in the galaxy.
8. No Man of God
The complicated relationship that formed between the FBI analyst Bill Hagmaier (Elijah Wood) and serial killer Ted Bundy during Bundy's final years on death row. A remarkable performance from Luke Kirby as Ted Bundy and chilling directing by Amber Sealey.
9. Old Henry
An action western about a farmer (Tim Blake Nelson) who takes in an injured man with a satchel of cash. When a posse comes for the money, he must decide who to trust. Defending a siege, he reveals a gunslinging talent calling his true identity into question. Also starring Stephen Dorff.
10. Belle
Suzu is a shy high school student living in a rural village. For years she has only been a shadow of herself, but when she enters a massive virtual world she escapes into her online persona as Belle.
11. Oxygen
A woman (Melanie Laurent) wakes in a cryogenic chamber with no recollection of how she got there. As she's running out of oxygen, she must rebuild her memory to find a way out of her nightmare. A fabulous one women show by Laurent and easily the best directing effort of Alexandre Aja's career so far.
12. The Power of the Dog
Charismatic rancher Phil Burbank (Benedict Cumberbatch) inspires fear and awe in those around him. When his brother (Jesse Plemmons) brings home a new wife (Kirsten Dunst) and her son (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Phil torments them until he finds himself exposed to the possibility of love.
13. CODA
As a child of deaf parents (Troy Kotsur and Marlee Matlin), Ruby (Emilia Jones) is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her love of music by wanting to go to Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents.
14. The Night House
A widow (Rebecca Hall) begins to uncover her recently deceased husband's disturbing secrets.
15. Wrath of Man
The plot follows H (Jason Statham), a cold and mysterious character working at a cash truck company responsible for moving hundreds of millions of dollars around Los Angeles each week. This is an intense, well crafted and intricate thriller and maybe my favorite movie from Guy Ritchie. Not what I expected at all.
16. Pig
A truffle hunter (Nicholas Cage) who lives alone in the Oregonian wilderness must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig after she is kidnapped. One of Nicolas Cage's best movies and most subtle performances.
17. The Mauritanian
Mohamedou Ould Slahi (Tahar Rahim), accused of involvement in the 9/11 attacks, fights for freedom after being detained, imprisoned and tortured in Guantanamo Bay without charge by the U.S. Government for years. A smart look at the morality and legality of such treatment. Also starring Jodie Foster, Shailene Woodley and Benedict Cumberbatch. Directed by Kevin Macdonald.
18. A Hero
Rahim (Amir Jadidi) is in prison because of a debt he was unable to repay. During a two-day leave, he tries to convince his creditor to withdraw his complaint against the payment of part of the sum. But instead things don't go as planned.
19. Spider-Man: No Way Home
With Spider-Man's (Tom Holland) identity now revealed, Peter asks Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help. When a spell goes wrong, dangerous foes from other worlds (Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, Thomas Hayden Church, Jamie Foxx, Rhys Ifans) start to appear, forcing Peter to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man. Also starring Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, J.K. Simmons, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
20. My Heart Can't Beat Unless You Tell It To
Two mysterious siblings (Patrick Fugit and Ingrid Sophie Schram) find themselves at odds over care for their frail and sickly vampiric younger brother (Owen Campbell), who needs constant blood in order to survive.
21. Licorice Pizza
The story of Alana Kane (Alana Haim) and Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman) growing up, running around and going through the treacherous navigation of first love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973. Also starring Bradley Cooper, Tom Waits and Sean Penn.
22. Benediction
Legendary 20th Century war poet Siegfried Sassoon's (Jack Lowden) life-long quest for personal salvation through his experiences with family, war, his writing, and destructive relationships goes unresolved, never realizing it can only come from within.
23. The Tragedy of Macbeth
A Scottish lord (Denzel Washington) becomes convinced by a trio of witches that he will become the next King of Scotland, and his ambitious wife (Frances McDormand) supports him in his plans of seizing power. Also starring Corey Hawkins and Brendan Gleeson.
24. Worth
An attorney in Washington D.C. battles against cynicism, bureaucracy and politics to help the victims of 9/11. This is a very immersive movie due to one of the best performances of Michael Keaton's career, an ambitious script and very focused direction from Sara Colangeloin.
25. Boss Level
A retired Special Forces officer (Frank Grillo) is trapped in a never-ending time loop on the day of his death. This movie is a lot of fun.
26. Batman: The Long Halloween
Batman investigates a murder spree that takes place on holidays over the course of a year, beginning on Halloween.
27. The Last Duel
King Charles VI declares that Knight Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon) settle his dispute with his squire (Adam Driver) over the rape of his wife (Jodie Comer) by challenging him to a duel. Told in 3 chapters from 3 different perspectives of the events leading to the rape.
28. Quo Vadis, Aida?
Aida is a translator (Jasna Djuricic) for the UN in the small town of Srebrenica. When the Serbian army takes over the town, her family is among the thousands of citizens looking for shelter in the UN camp.
29. The Suicide Squad
Supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker and a collection of nutty cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X as they are dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. This movie will get the bad taste of the first movie out of your mouth. A lot of fun, creative, twisted
and oddly has a lot of heart.
