A megalomaniacal super genius hellbent on destroying a guy simply because he's a threat to his place atop the food chain is pretty villainous in my book. Tomato, tomahto. And yeah, BvS Bruce isn't everyone's cup of tea. Personally, I think he's a lot of fun in an elseworlds kind of way. I just don't need every iteration of the character to be three shades darker and more brutal than the previous. No, because he was involved in an alien fight that destroyed half a city. Weird that Bruce didn't mention that as he was about to kill him. Something along the lines of, "I stopped your kind from destroying anymore innocent lives!" Instead he taunted him about how his parents probably told him he had a greater purpose, and yet here he was at Bruce's mercy.

Are you Amelia Bedelia or something? That doesn't address the fact that Bruce is acknowledging Superman's parents had values and believed he would be a positive influence on the world. And here Bruce is trying to kill him.

You know it's time to end a conversation when the person mentions random women in conversation. Batman comes from a city where people have been corrupted they start out good then turn bad.

Batman comes from a city where people have been corrupted they start out good then turn bad. It's a character from a children's book who takes everything literally without understanding context. You've done this in multiple conversations. I mentioned Superman having a greater purpose, as in a 'higher calling.' You took it literally and argued killing aliens is "a pretty big purpose." If I had used the term 'higher calling,' would you have argued Bruce has a satellite above Earth, so technically his 'calls are higher?' At first I thought you were trolling, but no; you really are this dense. You know it's time to end a conversation when the other person literally cannot comprehend most of what you're saying. So long, and stay in school.

The full synopsis can be read below: "...THE BATMAN is an edgy, action-packed thriller that depicts Batman in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting."

WB having two cuts... again. Do these dudes have that much trouble learning from their mistakes, or did WB hire a new crop of inept executives?

WB having two cuts... again. Do these dudes have that much trouble learning from their mistakes, or did WB hire a new crop of inept executives? Technically it's not a bad business model. Release 1 cut first, milk all the money you can from it, then release the 2nd and milk more money again.

Isn’t it common for movies to have more than one cut for test screenings?

Oh I get, and agree with that, it just seems like WB especially has a lot of trouble with having two cuts of a film. Unless (as mentioned elsewhere on this thread) they've got two cuts they are going to put in front of test audiences, to see which one goes better or if there are pieces hated in both and bits liked in both, so they can splice them into a third- theoretically better- cut of the film.

This movie doesn't impress me. It doesn't look bad, it just looks like somebody yet again trying to make Batman even darker and grittier. Sooner or later it's going to become a grindhouse horror franchise. Not sure why Batman has become the Punisher over the years, but if they're going to embrace the psychosis they should go whole hog like they did in BvS. Well that, and they've been trying to make him look more and more like Robocop since '89. That's one of the things I enjoyed with Batfleck in BvS. He was more lightly armored and, for all his size, he was actually the most nimble depiction of Batman we'd seen on screen yet. I'm still frustrated we never got to see Batfleck's movie. That was a Batman movie I actually was excited for. This movie... meh. You're right, they just keep rebooting the same thing, and he gets more emo with every reincarnation. At least with Batfleck there was progression.

Some are speculating about whether or not the guy in prison garb is Paul Dano/Riddler or the Joker making an appearance. I think it’s just the Riddler, like in the Dark Knight. He gets captured and then he escapes.

It’s unfortunate, but Affleck chose to step down for personal reasons, and evidently, Batman is too much of a cash cow for WB for them to just retire the character on the silver screen.
