Just wanted to stop in and say how fucking awesome this looks (especially after watching the latest trailer) I have full confidence in Matt Reeves here. His Planet of the Apes sequels were outstanding and I can't wait to see The Batman. imo Matt Reeves is like the anti- JJ Abrams (ironically Abrams and Reeves have been friends and known each other since they were teenagers haha) Both of them are known for rebooting/remaking stuff and making sequels to big franchises BUT Reeves' actually takes the time to develop characters and understands story structure really well (which is why he's so superior to Jar Jar Abrams ) JJ doesn't understand any of that shit (as shown with the god awful Force Awakens and whatever the fuck the Rise of Skywalker was going for The Batman looks so fresh, exciting, unpredictable and entertaining as hell. I'll be seeing it in theaters opening night for sure.

I'm so freaking excited for this! Hopefully, auditorily speaking, this will be more like the Batfleck movies where I could actually hear and enjoy the movie. The Nolan-verse movies were hard to hear and his soundtrack/background music made my hearing aids screech like I was getting mega feedback.
PS: I agree with the above opinions about how Batman keeps getting darker, and someday will be straight up horror.

Like an adaptation of Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth or something similar.

As it stands, THE BATMAN may be pushing my limits for gritty, violent on a movie. I had trouble with THE DARK KNIGHT.

The more I see of Pattinson the more I realize how much I didn't really care for Bale's Batman. And as far as Affleck goes...this could've been him. He had his chance to write, direct and star, but he blew it. I'm really going all in on this one. Interestingly enough, Bale agrees with you. In an interview he said he's disappointed in his performance in the trilogy. I find this highly ironic because I actually thought he was the best Bruce Wayne we've had. The Batvoice was terrible, I won't argue that. But overall I enjoyed Bale's performance. And for the record, Batman is the only good thing in BvS. Sure it isn't your Batman or my Batman, but they did something interesting with the character. He was a straight up villain until the very end. If it wasn't Batman he would've gone down as one of the great movie villains of all time. (Which isn't what they were going for, and not what people want from Batman, but hey.) This movie doesn't impress me. It doesn't look bad, it just looks like somebody yet again trying to make Batman even darker and grittier. Sooner or later it's going to become a grindhouse horror franchise. Not sure why Batman has become the Punisher over the years, but if they're going to embrace the psychosis they should go whole hog like they did in BvS. Yes, they should go back to the halcyon days when Batman was a fully deputized officer of the law. Support your police!

If the violence is getting worse and more insane, then it is a true reflection of our own society. Eh, I stopped reading the Batman comics a while back (I still read JL ones, and WW) in part because what you mention above. Sometimes, I miss the Adam West era Batman. Don't get me wrong, I love that comics reflect what world they are written in, but sometimes I'd enjoy a little break from the insanity of the real world. (Good thing I have DVDs huh?)

This pos looks awful. Looks like a parody of a good movie. Can see why Affleck walked away from it.
