I get if you don't want to include him because of longevity - he's still a young spry pup - but I find AD over Jo-Jo insulting

I see the NBA's top 50 from years ago all made it.I don't see who I'd take off for Luka, Embiid, or Klay. What about Parker or Ginobili? The NHL list isn't as deep. Alas, we'll have to wait another 25 years to see those guys on the top 100, when likely these 75 players also all get voted in again. Yeah I wondered if they were going to do that. I can see the argument for and against. The only real question then, was who are the greatest 25 players of the last 25 years. And maybe that's a fair way to do it, I don't know. Eventually in theory there will be 50 guys in the last 50 years than the best 25 of the first 25 years, so some cuts will have to be made somewhere, no? It's just weird that when they expand this list to 100, Tracy McGrady still won't be one of the best 100 players of all time and Reggie Miller will be. And I like both guys a ton. It isn't as simple as 'who was the better player,' we know that. But if it's going by accolades, McGrady is superior. Stats: McGrady. If it's going by who was more responsible for their teams' success, McGrady again. He carried that Orlando team when it supposed to be him and Grant Hill. Reggie was on teams that went farther in the playoffs, but they were loaded with talent. McGrady had to do the heavy lifting himself most of the time. Parker is a tough omission. He should've gotten Dame's spot.

Jo-Jo is better than 96% of the 75 Of course you've got your outliers here like Jordan and LeBron..... I'd leave both off for either Klay or Vince. www.landofbasketball.com/player_comparison/anthony_davis_vs_joel_embiid.htm

I've been listening to/reading people whine about Tony Parker all morning He benefited from playing with Duncan, Manu, Kawhi amongst others under coach Pop This is the equivalent to people stating Chris Bosh, Dennis Johnson or Danny Ainge should have made the list Now that you bring it up, DJ should've been on the list. Certainly ahead of Lillard.

Mo Cheeks deserves to be in ahead of DJ....... lol. DJ was a Finals MVP before he even came to Boston. DJ has more rings, more all-star appearances, more all-defensive teams. Good try, though.

DJ got to play with Danny, McHale, The Chief and Lord Larry
And Mo STILL has around 1,500 more career assists than that freckled doofus......

That actually makes sense, considering the playmakers he was playing with. And again, DJ was already a Finals MVP before he came to Boston. Good try, though.

Being a distributor - getting the 4 other guys involved.
Being the floor general and QB of the offense so to speak. Having an awesome assist/turnover ratio
Think pass 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Sounds to me as if Larry, Danny, Robert and Kevin had to make up for DJs deficiency in that area.

Point guard was and is about making winning plays, which he did a hell of a lot more than Mo Cheeks. And no, it isn't about thinking pass 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. That would be terrible. (See Ben Simmons.) I do appreciate you putting Ainge on the same level as these other Celtics HOF players, by the way. He doesn't belong there but he was a feisty competitor, always liked him.

'Point guard was and is about making Winning Plays'
Can you be any more general.
I can say that about a punter in college football.
'Winning Plays'. Oof

'Winning Plays'. Oof As in, scoring the ball, which you don't think they should be doing. Tell us more about the names you know nothing about on this list. Really makes you look knowledgeable on a topic. "I'd put Joe Blow Journeyman on this list ahead of this Hall of Fame player I've never heard of."

DJ and Mo weren't expected or supposed to be Steph, Dame, The Beard, Russ back then
It was a different game
Their job was to distribute - not score at will
Which Mo did better than DJ - which was my initial and only point

You might want to watch basketball games. Or just lookup the stats. DJ averaged 20 PPG in the playoffs the year he won Finals MVP. Keep making stuff up though, it's a hoot.

I'm going to keep my eye on the DHs - it's their job - to 'Make winning plays'
In fact - I'm going to keep my eyes on the 1b, 2b, 3b,Cs, SS, LF, RF, CF and Ps too - I think it's their job to 'make winning plays' too!
