Do you consider Star Wars to be children`s movies?
I do consider them children`s movies, but that does not mean that adult can`t watch and enjoy them.

Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, no I don’t. Return of the Jedi, yes I do. I think calling it a children's movie might even be a little generous...at times it plays like an extended toy commercial.

Yes, of course.
So did George.

Definitely. Kenner Toys made a fortune off of that license.
I liked them a lot better as a kid. Of course some of that was because of Lucas’ tinkering for the special editions and then the ridiculous prequels.
I still like the unmolested versions of the originals but there are so many things out there to watch now I rarely bother.
That being said, I think a kid nowadays would love these films.

Ya maybe, but kids today would think they're stupid i'll bet.
They would probably like only episode 7 more.

Yes. I think people who them seriously like they're Hamlet or something are ridiculous.

The movies feature limbs being ripped off, beheadings, sex slaves, genocide, children being murded, someone being horribly burned alive, and implied incest. So yes.

Yes. I think people who them seriously like they're Hamlet or something are ridiculous. That still doesn't make them children's movies. I am not even a big fan of Star Wars and I have a hard time comprehending the level at which they are held by many people, but that doesn't make them children's movies. They are family films to an extent, but that isn't the same as a children's movie. They are movies that can and do appeal to every age and are clearly directed at the broadest fanbase possible. Phantom Menace I think is the only Star Wars movie that can be argued to be aimed more at children and some aspects of ROTJ.

Flaws and all, it is my favorite Star Wars movie. The movie is that fun imo. I re-watched the OT a couple years ago.

That's why 1970's and 1980's kids movies were much better than the stuff pumped out today. All part of the deal of being a '70s and '80s kid. Mentally scarred in the 2020's.

No. I don’t even consider most animated films to be children’s films. I consider children films to be mostly brain dead.

I consider them family movies. Children movies to me are made exclusively for children to enjoy. Family movies have things that people from all age ranges can enjoy. I think Star Wars falls into that category.

I think Star Wars falls into that category. This^^^ There are family films that are aimed more at children than their parents (Bedknobs and Broomsticks for example), whereas Star Wars has something for everyone.
