Catman is correct to point out the cultural significance of "Plato's Stepchildren", but creatively, let's be honest and say it's not TOS at its best. On the creative front I nominate the ending of “The City on the Edge of Forever”, which still manages to shock first time viewers more than fifty years later. At the very end, when Kirk says, "Let's get the hell out of here", you just know that his decision is one that is going to haunt him for a very long time.

alpha128, do you think "The City on the Edge of Forever" would have worked as well had they cast Barbara Babcock instead of Joan Collins?

alpha128 , do you think "The City on the Edge of Forever" would have worked as well had they cast Barbara Babcock instead of Joan Collins? Catman , that's a good question. Barbara Babcock made many memorable live action and voice performances on TOS, and was very attractive in her prime. But I can't imagine anyone other than Joan Collins playing Edith Keeler. Collins just nailed all the aspects of that multi-faceted character.
