I was waiting for someone to make this thread. Anyway, Rapoport is painting this season as Brady's Last Ride - for real this time. Most of us probably thought this already but I bet there are a few who think he'll keep going until 50, or close to it. Maybe if Tom was doing this at 49, Giselle would consider letting him play at 50.

Somebody needs to find jimanchowder on the politics board and remind him of how obnoxious he was about the mere thought of Brady playing until he was 45. Granted, it seemed far fetched at the time, but he was such an asshole to anyone who deigned to suggest it. In other words, just another day that ends in 'Y' for good ole jim.

Anyway, I don’t think Jim has said a word about football since SB51.

It's like when DeNiro inadvertently said that he "snorts cock" instead of coke. Yes, it was funny in the moment but jim just kept badgering him about it over and over and over again. Routines wear thin fellas.

In any case, certainly won't be playing in week two vs New England. Although I just saw that Mac Jones got hurt against Miami too - who's their backup? (Yikes, it's Hoyer)

I'm guessing he'll retire for 60 days this next offseason.

I started wondering if Amazon Prime could tie in their TNF broadcasts to their streaming shows. Mahomes and Herbert battling with... the Rings of Power? Then I realized that this doesn't work - mainly because Mahomes only has one Super Bowl ring and Herbert has never been to the playoffs.
So here's the end result of my train of thought: Tom Brady has seven rings. No other currently-playing NFL QB has more than one.
There can be only one Lord of the Rings. When Brady retires, the NFL will have true parity.

Didn't he say he can imagine to play till 50.
The job can be the best distraction after a nasty divorce...
PS: But if Giselle dares to file a divorce - and there is no just cause like infidelity -, she might be the one who will bleed financially for it is often claimed that she is the wealthier one (=> Tom's pay cuts)...and then she has to pay Tom big time. And Rightly so.
PS: Matt Ryan looks like 50 at times.

This is why I don't understand why this article exists. I mean I do understand, it's clickbait. It isn't new to Brady, nor is it unique to him. He's a competitor. He's always the first guy to prop up teammates privately or publicly, so I don't have a problem with him bitching people out or tossing shit around on the sidelines from time to time. Dude wants the offense to function properly. This article says more about the perspective of the journalist than it does about Brady. They're too focused on Brady's age, and viewing everything through that lens. "He's too old to behave like this." "He must be frustrated because he knows this is his last season," etc. The getting Wednesdays off thing, I don't like. I respect it as a compromise with his wife, but it sends the wrong message to his teammates. His willingness to work as hard as everyone else (if not harder) is what made his leadership unassailable over the years. What message is he sending his teammates by taking practices off all season? Well one thing we know after yesterday is that it hasn't affected his standing with his teammates yet. As Mike Evans explained his part in yesterday's brawl to the refs, he said " That's Tom Brady, what do you expect me to do?"

On the other - sure, his teammates and coaches are cool with this arrangement for now. What happens when the Bucs go on a two-game skid? Especially if Brady plays poorly in some of those games. Rest of the team is getting chewed out and put through drills while he's not there? You have to hand it to Brady - where he goes, drama and theater inevitably follow. What are we going to talk about when he retires?

But as far as we know, Brady is healthy beyond being 'banged up' after game day, and not to the extent of most other football players. Like you said, 45 and still playing at a high level is unprecedented, but to me it sends the wrong message, especially when his teammates are brawling to protect him out there.

That's the 1st thing I thought of when I saw the Wednesday thing. It's just not a good look. I mean it's Brady, and it'll be fine, just not something I would think he would do is all.
