Love the consistency. I admit that I have a chuckle (or at least smile) every time you post something about Larry Crowne. Haven't seen anything good lately - been catching up on The Americans, and watching Better Call Saul and Fargo. My fave, recent movie: Moonlight Little knows/seen film I like recommending to my friends: The Lunchbox (really great Indian film)

I just re-watched Field of Dreams. Still one of my favorite baseball movies.

Duel is tremendous. Own it. Give it a watch once a year or so. Correct me if I'm wrong - but I think Spielberg was involved. Give 'Joy Ride' a watch - doesn't compare - but it's still a fun ride and a more modern take on this classic.

If directing it qualifies as involved, then yes.
I just watched "Christine." Nowhere near as good as I'd heard but watchable.

"Train to Busan", the best South Korean zombie movie ever! Really enjoyed this one. A great effort in what has become a truly tiresome genre. Light and sprinkled with fun moments without being silly. Scary and suspenseful without being so ridiculously unsurvivable (like World War Z). The little girl was great and the ending was really satisfying.

It certainly wasn't great and relied HEAVILY on 'stupid character syndrome' but Alien Covenant had some terrific nastiness and is good for fans of the series. Doesn't live up to the first two installments, but certainly surpasses some other entries.

I am very particular when it comes to the movie adaptations of his books, but I am with you on The Shining and Misery. (they are not better but almost as good) Other King movies I think made jump successfully: The usual fare: The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, Stand by Me. Others: Carrie, Cujo, The Running Man (short story), The Long Walk (short story). Really looking forward to The Dark Tower.

We should all watch Aliens to get sentimental over Bill Paxton. He's actually awesome in that role.

Really looking forward to The Dark Tower. he's had some of his stuff get terrifically made for 'Regular TV' too. haters will hate. these were pretty much 'made for TV movies - mini movies' that may have stretched out over a couple of parts and were on network TV for a couple of week span. i.e. the Salem's Lot remake with Rob Lowe was fantastic as well as 'Storm of the Century'........rarely talked about but both were very well done

I remember thinking that Prometheus had its fair share of characters doing stupid things. Wasn’t there a guy who one moment was scared of everything and then in the next scene was killed while trying to pet an alien creature? In any case, I am planning on watching it later this week.
