What say you?
I’d go for a REBOOT. The Batman is the best DC movie since TDK. Scrap the DCECU. Let a talented director adapt him in a fresh start, something more faithful to the source material, just like how Matt Reeves did with Bats.
That said, I do like Cavil. So a soft reboot wouldn’t be unacceptable. It needs to stand alone though. A direct MoS sequel would be a hard pass.

Well, according to KC Walsh, Cavill will be too busy from now until mid-2024 to do headline a film.

What if they just didn't do Superman for a bit? I don't want to see any more of the DCEU Superman but I'm also tired of reboots and the endless retelling of the same story. Superman & Lois is decent and has found a new angle to explore, that's all the Superman I need right now. Let the character rest and give other heroes the chance to shine.

I think we need to cut back on the superhero movies. I'm so burned out on the MCU right now I can't make myself watch any of it. I just want another Batman movie.

MoS sequel with the DCEU full-speed ahead. I will settle for a soft reboot kind of like how they did with James Gunn's Suicide Squad.

There hasn’t been a proper Superman film in about a decade now. How long does the break need to be?

Only two Superman solo movies since the Reeves era, the last one being 2013. And he’s obviously one of DC’s most important characters. It’s definitely time to reboot that bitch.

Even though there hasn't been a solo film Cavil's Superman still showed up for Batman V Superman and 2 cuts Justice League. It just doesn't feel like he's gone anywhere yet. Like I said, I'm tired of the reboot cycle going on right now and a decade still feels too soon. Plus what's a reboot even going to do at this stage? Origins? Lex Luthor? Lois and the rest of the Daily Planet team? Superman occupies this really weird place where it feels like we're always just getting variations on the same thing despite barely scratching the surface of the Superman story. Maybe I could get behind a reboot if they did something radically different to what we've seen before, like 'Elseworlds' different.

Well, if they were to do another movie with Henry Cavill, I think the obvious direction to go would be to have him and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl fight Braniac. That’s something that hasn’t been done on film before.

I suppose that's one advantage of doing a sequel; the origin is done, Zod's dead and everyone hated Luthor, they pretty much have to do something new at this point.

Rebooting worked well enough for Batman. And as per that, you don't need another origin story to start fresh.

If they could find a director who is as talented as Reeves and also has a solid understanding of Superman it would be a huge win for WB. They should do the same for other characters like Green Lantern too.

I don't trust the current regime at WBD to recognise that if they saw it and be able to differentiate the good pitches from the bad ones.

“I wanted to make it official — I am back as Superman,” Cavill said in a video. He thanked the fans, “most of all. Thank you for your support and for your patience.” He added that what audiences saw in Black Adam is a “very small taste” of things to come.
