Maybe I should rephrase that: Consciousness does not need physical senses, and I can prove it. Consciousness is a philosophical construct, not physical, so you can't prove it, not in real life. And considering you had to revise your postulate within a few sentences I suspect it is not well thought out. LOL

Maybe I should rephrase that: Consciousness does not need physical senses, and I can prove it. It requires a functioning brain and it doesn’t have to function all that well. You seem to have one, so congratulations, you proved it.

Switch it off and there goes your consciousness or conscious awareness, even if temporarily.

Consciousness is not proof of a soul, if that’s what heeeyyy is talking about. Chimp’s display self-awareness, so they could be a soul bearing species just like it’s theorized humans are. If so, now in we’re in more trouble with Big Guy and not just the Indians.

Consciousness is a philosophical construct, not physical, so you can't prove it, not in real life. There's a very, very narrow sense in which this is a true statement, but you can only get there by going pretty deep into the weeds of academic discourse on the subject.

Consciousness is NOT in the brain any more than a rock band is inside a radio.

OK then prove how conciousness is not in the brain, I can't wait to read this.

As one scientist said he was told: "You're paid to search for a solution, not find one." He was told that when he found a solution. You know how the five physical senses work. They work via vibrations that they pick up. Where do you think those vibrations are? Didn't Tesla say that everything is energy, frequency, vibration? Are either of those physical? When you dream, how is it that you see when your eyes are closed? You can hear and see in your dreams, even though your brain is encased in a skull with no light, and your eyes are closed, you still see and have sight. Now go ahead and start your hot air about the brain. Lol

Taste and smell rely on physical mediums to be able to taste or smell anything (nothing can taste sweet or bitter unless it has a physical presence; when we smell things, it's particles in the air); hearing needs a physical substance (in our case, typically air) through which to pick up vibrations which is translated to sound (you can't have vibrations without some sort of physical medium); sight relies on photons; the sense of touch - well, I dare say that everything you have ever touched has been physical. You don't. You're imagining things. I hope you don't believe that what you hear and see in dreams are real? Dreaming, too, happens in the brain. If consciousness is not tied to the brain, how come you can make someone lose consciousness by cutting off the blood supply to the brain? Just what do you suppose the brain is for, anyway?

It’s stunning how they resist easy to understand explanations for things. I think sheeeeyyy is desperate to prove the Christian afterlife correct or all those people she’s cursed and damned to hell over the years won’t go there, but will waiting on her after she dies.

BTW why do you think you know more than actual scientists on conciousness? That would actually be a much more interesting conversation than watching you demonstrate your scientific illiteracy.

Karl Aksel said, "you're imagining things." Explain what the imagination is. What is the imagination? No brain surgeon has ever found a 'memory' inside of a brain. The brain is a receiver of vibration. It is not vibration itself. That exists OUTSIDE the brain. I don't care how many paragraphs of hot air you post.
