If she kept degrading like how she was in ROTJ, I'm sure she'd have ended up that way.
And yet, she was able to strangle Jabba the Hutt to death single handedly.
Strangling a big fat guy, wow what an accomplishment.

No worse than Mara Jade or Allana Solo. Who? I don’t watch the streeaming shows so I have no idea who they are. Mara Jade: The Emperor's Secret Force-User Assassin who shows up only after he's died and somehow has never done anything do bad she can't easily become a good guy and Luke's perfect mate. She's also a hot redhead who wears black leather.
Allana Solo: Han and Leia's Grand-Daughter who kills a Sith warrior at the age of 6 and becomes some kind of Invincible Warrior Queen prophecized from her birth.

As opposed to what, running around like a moron and doing some flips?

I feel a need to come back to this. When you think about it...wow, she really was her daddy's girl, wasn't she?
Let's be real, you KNOW she had to be using the Force to strangle Jabba the Hutt when the puppet alone weighed 1500 pounds.

As opposed to the tough Rebel Leader she was in ANH.
Admittedly ESB started this first where she barely does anything but have romantic talk with Han and then get captured in Cloud City and yell "IT'S A TRAP" before Ackbar could.

Because then the story was edging away from being about her, first movie it was about all 3 of them pretty equally, then it became about Luke and his heritage, his destiny.

Beats me because it's my understanding nobody really likes Mara as a character and didn't like her as Luke's wife.

I think he’s trying to excuse Rey with the pointless statement that there are worse characters. It’s pretty silly. Ackbar: This hamburger is bad. Sam: No worse than the one I ate out of the garbage one time!

There's also the fact not everybody knows the Legends books but EVERYBODY knows those shit awful sequel movies.

Okay. But how are they relevant to the conversation? That the "fans" never complained about either of these poorly conceived Sues.
Oh, and Ahsoka:
"I'm Anakin's secret apprentice no one knew about and Obi-Wan left out, I left the Order which hardly anyone ever does and I'm a Grey Jedi who is both Light Side and Dark Side and I survived the Purge via special time travel plot contrivances that never existed before!"

Which doesn't change that she got screwed. With Han, it's not so bad because he wasn't a deep character and his entire arc was wrapped up at the end of ANH so he didn't have much relevance after that. With Leia, it's a waste.

My issue with Rey is the fact that instead of just being her own character, Disney decided that not only did she have to have some special connection to the of cast but she had to be the new Luke/Anakin Skywalker.
I feel like doing that to her hurt her character more than help it.
Will it have stopped the incels from hating her and calling her a Mary Sue or whatever? Of course not. Pretty much any modern female character is doomed to be hated for something completely stupid.
But I really wish they took a more original approach with the character.
Granted this is Star Wars and Disney, so originally is hard to come by from them, but I can't help but feel like she was wasted potential.
Same with Poe and Finn. Don't even get me started on how Finn was treated.

What are you even talking about? I don’t know those characters or what “fans” you’re referring to. None of this is at all relevant to what I said.

Don't even get me started on hosting Finn was treated. Agreed. Basically all the characters sucked in the ST. Rey certainly wasn’t the only one. The treatment of Finn was horrendous. The whole thing was a train wreck.

I have genuinely NO idea who the rest of those characters are, but a few nights ago I was going through the channels and one of those SW movies was on with Rey the perfect hero and Luke the burned out failure of a Jedi, etc., and I watched it with my ear buds on so I didn't have to listen to their crap, but just watching it, man that stuff if some boring as fuck shit, people were actually excited when these came out? I think the original movies are really a period piece, they worked BEFORE there was CGI, they went to a LOT of pains to make it all look very real, now you KNOW everything out the viewports is just CGI, it painfully looks like CGI, a lot of it looks similar to some of the effects from the new Star Trek movies, and is no longer fascinating or awe-inspiring whatsoever.

Don't even get me started on how Finn was treated. I have to disagree with this comment. Sometimes a female character is hated on because she actually is a legit Mary Sue, and unfortunately Rey is one, one of the most obvious ones since Bella Swan. There's a number of modern female characters out there who aren't hated on by audiences. Majority of audiences liked Atomic Blonde, Alita and Hela. Majority liked Wonder Woman in her first film and Wanda is fairly popular as well. House of the Dragon is getting massive praise despite majority of its leading cast being female. Rogue One was well received by fans even with a female lead. Hanna, Lucy and Anna are all fairly recent movies where nobody complained about them simply for being female or for being Mary Sues are whatever. My point being, let's stop this narrative that audiences hate on a modern female character simply for being female. Sometimes a Mary Sue is just a Mary Sue. P.S. - I actually don't mind that Rey was redoing the same hero journey as Luke's. I just wanted her character and story better written.

Don't even get me started on how Finn was treated. The problem is that Finn and Poe weren't never meant to be more than plot devices to start the story. Poe a plot device to get Finn involved, and Finn a plot device to get Rey involved. That's why Poe was originally supposed to die in TFA and Finn ended in a coma (in case they wanted to just kill him in TLJ), the story of the Sequels was always going to be about Rey and Ren and everyone else was secondary to that.
As for Rey being unassociated...that problem was started by Lucas. He was the one who had the idea that everything had to be tied to the Skywalkers, that's how the EU worked too. Star Wars as a real universe simply was never built properly that there could be an unassociated new protagonist.
