Runaway Jury - 6/10 Death Wish 4 - 9/10
Mine:
Detective Knight: Independence (2023) - 3/10 Second to last of the films of Bruce Willis. This one has a good idea to it. A paramedic who wants to be a cop so he goes on a a vigilante style murder spree. However the film is not done well with Bruce Willis's double being far too obvious. Even the voice dubbing is really off. Plus you can tell Bruce is not even in the same room as his co stars.
Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition (2016) - 10/10 One of my favorite superhero films.
As Good as Dead (2022) - 5/10 A thriller version of The Karate Kid.
A Party to Die For (2022) - 5/10 Solid thriller of a poor young woman who pretends to be rich. ruined by a overly happy ending.
Batman: Assault on Arkham (2014) - 7/10 Good animated DC film.
Underworld: Blood Wars (2016) - 5/10 OK Underworld sequel. Not the best nor the worst.
The Reconciler (2015) - 1/10 Its a awful Saw rip off with a real religious tone.

Welcome back to another week of the BEST & WORST edition of 'what movies did you see last week?' thread. For those who haven't been part of it before, basically your host (me) posts my weekly movies and you can comment on those and list your movie for the same time frame. I will get back to you on yours and you can talk to other users here about their films. It's a great place to talk about film. FIRST TIME FILM VIEWINGWhite Buffalo (1977, J Lee Thompson)Some amazing scenes with the White Buffalo but when the animatronic beast is not on screen it’s not that good. 5.5/10REPEAT FILM VIEWINGRunaway Jury (2003, Gary Fleder) Disney+Fun well paced court room thriller with. Good cast and good twists. 6.5/10Death Wish 4 (1987, J Lee Thompson) blu rayHeld up better than expected. Currently my fourth of the series. 6/10The Magnificent Seven (1960, John Sturges) YouTube Man what a slog, this is not good. I’ll just stick to Seven Samurai. 4.5/10WEEKLY FILM AWARDS
BEST FILM: Runaway Jury BEST ACTOR: Jon Cusack - Runaway Jury BEST ACTRESS: Rachel Weisz - Runaway Jury BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Gene Hackman - Runaway Jury BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Kim Novak - White Buffalo BEST EDITING: William Steinkamp - Runaway Jury BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: Paul Lohmann - White Buffalo BEST SCORE: John Barry - White Buffalo BEST SCRIPT: Brian Koppelman - White Buffalo BEST DIRECTOR: Gary Fleder - Runaway Jury 10/10 - Perfection (or as close to it as possible) 09/10 - An Excellent film 08/10 - A VERY Good film 07/10 - A Good film 06/10 - A Solid film 05/10 - An Average film 04/10 - Below Average film 03/10 - A mostly bad film 02/10 - A mostly terrible film 01/10 - Awful through and through 00/10 - Not only awful but offensive Hi, Dark. Yours: Runaway Jury 7/10 I remember thinking it was O.K. The Magnificent Seven 8/10 I like it actually. I thought it was fun. I like the cast, the score too. Mine: A Man Called Otto 4.5/10 The movie with Tom Hanks, about a grumpy widower, who's suicidal after the death of his wife, but then he meets a woman and her family who just moved next door. I didn't like it, I mean, Tom Hanks is good, but I thought the movie was really corny and heavy handed, in the last part especially. Tough Cop 7/10 It's an Italian movie from the 70s, with Tomas Milian, it's about a oonvict who gets freed by a cop, to help him catch a gang who kidnapped for ransom a sick little girl. It's O.K., a bit trash, but I didn't mind it. There's Henry Silva too in it, he plays the villain. The Dirty Dozen 9/10 It's Robert Aldrich movie, with Lee Marvin. I actually hadn't seen it before. Really a classic, it's pretty wild. It's really funny too, which I wasn't expecting. The cast is great, I loved especially John Cassavetes and Charles Bronson. The Driver 9/10 It's Walter Hill movie, with Ryan O'Neal, Bruce Dern and Isabelle Adjani, it's about a getaway driver, who's great at his job, but there's a cop after him, who's determined to catch him. I really love it, it's so gorgeous and stylish, it holds up really well. It's a bit underrated, actually, IMO. Bruce Dern is really great. I watched in a cinema, actually, at a screening, I'm glad I did.

American Hustle (2013, David O. Russell) - 7.5/10I cant remember if you saw the latest from David O. Russell and whether you liked it? I did watch Amsterdam. I thought it was alright. The cast was pretty good for the most part, but the story never completely pulled me in, but it definitely had its moments. I gave it 6/10.

Hello again! Sorry for how late into the week before I responded. My power has been out the last five days. Only one of yours: The Magnificent Seven (1960, John Sturges) I think it's pretty good. The problem is Seven Samurai is so much better that I cannot think of any reason I would choose this one over that. 6/10 Mine:
Straight to Hell (Alex Cox, 1987) I've enjoyed some of Cox's other films (Repo Man and Walker), but this is one of the most god awful films I've ever seen. No redeeming value whatsoever. 1/10 The Psychic (Lucio Fulci, 1977) Pretty good Fulci film. More Hitchcockian than his usual gore-fests. Features a psychic woman who has a vision of crime in her husband's old house, finds a body in the wall and tries to clear his name. A couple of deep logic leaps kept it from greatness, but overall very enjoyable. 7/10 Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, 2022) This was... surprisingly good. I don't go into a children's animated film expecting a fairly deep mediation of death and loneliness, but that's still what I got. Add in some wonderful animation and some pretty good jokes and you have a shockingly good little film. 7/10
Repeat viewing:
Dracula (Francis Ford Coppola, 1992)
Rewatched the 4K disc (which is beautiful). I'll go ahead and say the unpopular opinion that this is my second favorite Coppola film after the first Godfather. It's not a "scary" horror film, but much like Kwaidan, I think it is one of the most beautiful and I'll watch it purely for the visuals. 9/10
