First Time Viewing The Perfume of the Lady in Black (1974; Francesco Barilli) - Bizarre, arthouse giallo, which has more in common with modern efforts like Amer or the poor Suspiria remake. 5/10 TV They Were Ten (2020) - Modernised French take on the Agatha Christie classic And Then There Were None. More of a thriller than a mystery. 6/10 Repeat Viewing The Bird With The Crystal Plumage (1970; Dario Argento) - The silly humour in the middle part almost destroys the great tension and atmosphere built up in the first act, otherwise this could've been a classic. 7/10 The Witches (1990; Nicolas Roeg) - Anjelica Huston scared the hell out of me as a kid. Still a fun movie. 8/10 The Bird With The Crystal Plumage (1970; Dario Argento) - I love Argento, and I know some people absolutely love this one, but it has always fallen a bit short for me. It's entertaining, but does not even compare to some of his films he would make soon after. 7/10
The Witches (1990; Nicolas Roeg) - Agree with your assessment. 7/10

Rewatched it as an adult and felt embarrassment for my past self. 2/10
The African Queen (1951) - Personally I really like this one and think it is one of Huston's best jobs as a director. 8/10

Hello again! Sorry for how late into the week before I responded. My power has been out the last five days. Only one of yours: The Magnificent Seven (1960, John Sturges) I think it's pretty good. The problem is Seven Samurai is so much better that I cannot think of any reason I would choose this one over that. 6/10 Mine:
Straight to Hell (Alex Cox, 1987) I've enjoyed some of Cox's other films (Repo Man and Walker), but this is one of the most god awful films I've ever seen. No redeeming value whatsoever. 1/10 The Psychic (Lucio Fulci, 1977) Pretty good Fulci film. More Hitchcockian than his usual gore-fests. Features a psychic woman who has a vision of crime in her husband's old house, finds a body in the wall and tries to clear his name. A couple of deep logic leaps kept it from greatness, but overall very enjoyable. 7/10 Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, 2022) This was... surprisingly good. I don't go into a children's animated film expecting a fairly deep mediation of death and loneliness, but that's still what I got. Add in some wonderful animation and some pretty good jokes and you have a shockingly good little film. 7/10
Repeat viewing:
Dracula (Francis Ford Coppola, 1992)
Rewatched the 4K disc (which is beautiful). I'll go ahead and say the unpopular opinion that this is my second favorite Coppola film after the first Godfather. It's not a "scary" horror film, but much like Kwaidan, I think it is one of the most beautiful and I'll watch it purely for the visuals. 9/10
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish - Yeap. 8/10

Cool banner. Maybe it has more an American Gigolo vibe. Thatβs the poster that comes with the new 4k disc O.K., that's a seriously good cover.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish - Agreed. I really enjoyed it. 8/10 Dracula - Has some issues, but the sets, costumes, makeup, cinematography, and score are wonderful. 7.5/10

I'm not a fan of Fulci's, but The Psychic is one I'm interested in.

Hey soggy better late than never, why was your power out? Dracula - my favourite Dracula film, I have the 4k disc too π 8/10 I live in a rather rural area, so if things go out it takes longer for them to fix things. We had some really bad weather last week and several trees had fallen over, some of which broke powerlines. It was good fun.
