Nashville. Right after the episode with Rayna Jaymes' funeral. Why, because they killed her off. Intend to return? Hell no. I did stick around for the first half of the season after she died. The show went downhill fast for me. I didn't stick around for the end. But my general feeling is I probably didn't miss much.

House of the Dragon When I stopped: Episode 7 (so I gave it a fair go) Reason for stopping: I guess focusing on just one house isn't interesting enough. Plus the time jumps Intend to return to it?: No.
Rings of Power When I stopped: Episode 3 Reason for stopping: Felt more like poorly written fan fiction. Forced diversity. Intend to return to it?: No.
The Wheel of Time When I stopped: Episode 8 (last episode so gave it a fair go again) Reason for stopping: Not enough exposition for someone unfamiliar with the books, the feminist agenda and the teleportation tunnel thing was daft. I spent more time checking the lore on Wikipedia than actually watching it Intend to return to it?: No.
The Witcher When I stopped: After the first episode Reason for stopping: Confusing timelines if you aren't familiar with the source material Intend to return to it?: No.

There have been many series that I have started watching but then dropped after a few episodes or maybe at the end of the first season – too many to remember. Shows that I’ve watched for quite some time but then stopped before the end, not so many. Off the top of my head:
Friends: stopped watching probably about two years before the end, mostly because I couldn’t stand the characters of Joey and Phoebe anymore – too stupid. When it came to a conclusion, I watched the last two or three episodes, just to see how it was going to end. I am not planning on going back and watching the ones I missed.
The Simpsons: stopped watching around season 13 or 14 when I was just wasn’t finding it funny anymore. Resumed about ten years later, and I am still watching it today. Unlikely that I will ever make the effort of catching up with the episodes I missed.
CSI NY and CSI Miami: I started watching them because I enjoyed the original CSI, but at some point I figured that they were just not worth my time. Zero desire to re-visit them.
Malcolm in the Middle: not sure why I stopped watching it before the end, as I really liked it.
Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D: I had to look it up. It lasted for seven seasons, and I think I missed s4, s5 and s6. I wouldn’t mind going back to it if the episodes were available in a streaming service I already subscribe to, but I won’t go out of my way to look for them.

Rome: Watched half the 1st season and never went further because it's so good, I don't want it to end. That's a really weird reason to stop - but I understand perfectly. Both seasons are phenomenal, it's insane that it was discontinued.

Both seasons are phenomenal, it's insane that it was discontinued. Not really "a reason to stop", as I never decided to. It is more a case of saving the better stuff for later (which turns out to be never) or at least enjoying it slowly. Then I start other things and it stays on the side. I can see how it wasn't successful, though. Not the crowd pleasing junk that moves the masses, not some super-hero story for morons, not some "stick-it-to-the-man" formula for plebs, not some minority-enforcing manifesto for minor-feeling fucks.

Remembered some more.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia When I stopped: After a few episodes Reason for stopping: Seemed very mean spirited. Had no likeable or interesting characters, and the theme song was extremely annoying Intend to return to it?: No
Schitt's Creek When I stopped: Early season 2 I think Reason for stopping: I was mentally very unwell at the time, and was not in the mood to Intend to return to it?: Yes, it was not the shows fault, just bad timing
The Simpsons When I stopped: Some time during season 10 or 11 Reason for stopping: It was gradually getting less and less funny and wholesome and more and more mean spirited and stupid Intend to return to it?: Yes, I will give it another chance at some point
MythBusters When I stopped: Season 2 or 3 maybe? Reason for stopping: I don't remember. Maybe simply overwhelmed at the amount of episodes ahead to watch, and feeling like a waste of time compared to watching proper serial dramas, despite still being amazing Intend to return to it?: Yes, it's a cool show.
Better Call Saul When I stopped: Mid-late season 6 Reason for stopping: This one is heartbreaking to me. I absolutely adored BCS. BB and BCS were both some of my favorite shows, but that final season of BCS was so fucking terrible. Predictable, rushed, anticlimactic, badly written, fan service filled nonsense. It was so bad I checked out when there were only a handful of episodes left Intend to return to it?: Yes. It's only a few episodes so I'm sure I will at some stage when I feel up to it.

It is more a case of saving the better stuff for later It's not better. I mentioned above that season 2 (or at least the 2nd half) was very rushed because they tried to fit multiple seasons worth of content in mere episodes because they knew they were getting cancelled in advance.

Night Court 2.0 I'm not gone yet, but beyond scene chewing of the supporting actors, & barely 1-2 genuine laughs an episode, it's not landing for me as I'd hoped. The original series had blue humour & bite, along with humanity & emotions intertwined. This one 2.0 2023 is playing it all safe & sound, with dry humour & characters. I never even knew this one got past the discussion stage to being an actual series. I gave up on original NC in the last couple of seasons because the humor had gotten too off-the-wall and stupid, and the characters had become cartoons rather than people. I'll need to give the new version a look, but I don't expect much from it.

Star Trek: Discovery When I stopped: A few episodes into Season 3 Reason for stopping: The show never really felt like Star Trek to me and didn't know what it wanted to be. By the time they'd reached the distant future I no longer had any interest in forcing myself to watch what had become just another Star Wars show. Intend to return to it?: No.

Chuck When I stopped: Early or midway through season 2 I think Reason for stopping: The show was extremely generic and repetitive. Every episode was the same and predicable and filled with plot armor and no stakes. The generic spy movie music they constantly used whenever someone got into a fight was very annoying as well. The characters were all overly likeable to the point where they are not at all interesting. I ended up enjoying the Buy More storylines far more than the boring main spy storylines. No idea why this show was so popular Intend to return to it?: Probably. I'd like to at least finish the second season

Silo Stopped watching after episode 3. I'm almost certain I know where it's going and it feels stale. (Maybe shelved and will give another try if there's nothing else worth watching later, even if just to see if I was right about where it was going.)
Fear the walking Dead (abandoned) Stopped watching half way through the first episode of the latest season. Just the same old same old. Boring.
His Dark Materials (shelved maybe?) Couldn't get into the latest season though I did enjoy the first two.
Shadow and Bone (shelved maybe?) Season 1 was okay but couldn't get into this season.
The Nevers (maybe shelved) I watched all of Part 1 and started watching part 2 but wasn't really enjoying it. May try again at a later date.

Fringe: When I stopped: I can't remember which season it was, 4 I think, when they finally entered the other dimension and evil John Noble was established as the bad guy. I just couldn't care from that point on. Supernatural: When I stopped: Season 11 It just kept repeating itself with Lucifer emerging from hell again, plus the case-of-the-week episodes became pretty lame too. Mr Robot:When I stopped: After completing Season 1. It was a good, solid show, but nothing that would've set my heart on fire. Person of Interest:When I stopped: At the end of Season 3, when they were forced underground by the rival machine, and the show was threatening to become a masochistic slog. Dexter:When I stopped: After completing Season 4, because I had heard, that it was going downhill from there. I did watch New Blood though and felt the ending was a huge letdown. Westworld:When I stopped: After completing Season 1. I liked the parts set inside the Westworld theme park, but the rest taking place outside the park was boring and the entire rise-of-the-machines theme felt like an old hat. Game of Thrones:When I stopped: In Season 4, because I couldn't stomach Ramsay anymore, there was too much rape and torture on the show. Vikings:I only watched the first season and thought it was nothing special, plus I couldn't care about any of the characters. Boardwalk Empire:Only watched the first two seasons. After a superb pilot the show became less interesting and there was just too much domestic stuff with Kelly Macdonald's character. If I watch a gangster show the last thing I want to see is the life of a boring housewife. Peaky BlindersOnly watched season 1. It did have its moments, but just like Boardwalk it became too much about women's issues. The Haunting Of Hill HouseI could barely make it through the first episode. Lots of telling, very little showing, with characters narrating their spooky experiences, and it also had a far too modern CGI-ish artificial look to it.
And no, I don't intend to return to any of these shows.

Boss: I think I watched about the first 2-3 episodes. Still not sure what the show was supposed to be about.
Lost: After completing season 4 I had a feeling, it was going to end on a bum note, so I didn't stick around to find out whether I was right (It seems I was).
The Sopranos I never watched the last season. I know it has an open ending though. I might rewatch the entire show one day, but its not high on the list of my priorities.
Yellowstone Completed season 1, don't intend to watch any more. I'm just not getting the hype around the show, even Costner's character is rather dull.
Without A Trace The first two seasons were excellent, season 3 was still okay, but I heard it sort of jumped the shark after that.
Breaking Bad I watched season 1, but didn't like it enough to give subsequent seasons a try.

Hell On Wheels I had the impression, that the creators of this show had no clue where the plot was going. I mean they kill off the main love interest at the end of season 2, and after that the show became a bit of a mess.
Banshee Season 1 was great, season 2 was basically more of the same, so after completing it, I grew a bit tired of the show, but I'm planning to pick up where I left off, with watching season3.
The Event Around the middle of the first and only season I realised that naysayers were pretty accurate in declaring this a lame Lost rip-off.
Wayward Pines Completed the first season. Didn't like the way it ended, especially with the death of the main character. Never bothered with season 2.
Elementary Have seen seasons 1-6, I don't think I will ever watch season 7. Really liked the characters more than the show itself anyway.
Heroes Have only seen the pilot and remember thinking at the time: what's the big deal? Is this really supposed to be the new Lost? Never felt compelled to watch the rest of the show.
True Detective Like so many others I was very impressed with season 1 and initially excited with the prospect of further seasons. But then the bad reviews began trundling in, and I decided to give season 2 a pass.

Alias I remember when this show came out it was hyped like hell and the first couple of seasons were fun, but then it started getting a bit stale, especially with J.J. Abrams' more exciting other show Lost stealing its thunder, so I stopped watching after season 4, since I didn't care anymore how it was going to end.
Battlestar Galactica Could barely make it through the pilot. I loved Tricia Helfer, but felt indifferent towards the rest.
The Americans After two great seasons the show began to decline in season 3. Until then they had a good balance between personal and historical stuff, but then they began ignoring major political events in favour of the characters personal issues, so I stopped watching after season 3.
The Shield Only seen the first four episodes. It had an intriguing concept with a powerhouse performance from Michael Chiklis, but I hated the cheap-looking cinematography and the show was just too downbeat and rough for my taste.
The Missing One season of this was more than enough. The funeral pacing made this a slog to sit through. The little plot there was could've easily been told in 3-4 instead of 10 episodes.

Damages What started out as an intriguing show became increasingly convoluted by season 3, by too many characters and subplots. Glenn Close's villain also seemed invincible by always being one step ahead of our heroine, so I never watched season 5, because I had feeling it was most likely going to disappoint.
Fargo I liked the beginning of season 1, but while Thornton's villain was initially fun to watch he became increasingly annoying over the course of the season. So I never watched any of the other seasons.
Legion Great first season, but I heard it got a bit confusing in season 2, so I've yet to watch the rest of the show.
Daredevil Another show that got an insane amount of hype, and in my opinion didn't quite live up to it. The plot moved very, very slowly with too many repetitive action scenes and despite some great characters I felt season 2 ended with a whimper rather than a bang. I might watch season 3 one day, but I'm not in a hurry.
Utopia This series had a killer idea (no pun intended), but was so misanthropic and cruel that at one point I just couldn't laugh about it anymore. Plus I heard that season 2 dropped the ball big time, so I never bothered with it.

The Walking Dead... I stopped watching during the Fair and big reveal of several deaths. It had become too depressing for me. And I really can't believe they are doing more Spinoffs. And I feel like there won't be any big stakes. Just more wandering Place to place encountering bad people or more Zombies... Lather, rinse, repeat. Aren't people bored with it??
Fear the Walking Dead...Once a certain lead character died my interest plummeted. It also feels too little too late with a lead character returning. The show became awful when Morgan came over and What's her face kept recording people with her stupid video camera.
The Americans... I remember feeling really annoyed they ended it that way. All that buildup and it ends on a Snoozer. As if they were afraid to wrap it up for good. So they basically leave it open ended. Is it gonna come back?
Fargo... I enjoyed the first two seasons. But bringing Chris Rock on? Nah. Not interested. I may tune in for the next season.
