I could see Richardson being Jalen Hurts . . . or I could see him being Malik Willis. As a fanbase, I wouldn't worry about whiffing. As a GM, I'd be fucking petrified. Expectations for Pickett this season? Marginal creep up so that by the time the 2023 season is through Steeler fans are saying "I don't know any more now than I knew at the end of the 2022 season if he's going to be the longterm guy or not". All that being said - - I'm glad we aren't a part of this quarterback draft class. I'm sure one of them will undoubtedly be better than Pickett and one will undoubtedly will be worse - - I just wouldn't want to bet on which guys fit those statements.

You don't think the Vikes would need to trade up further to get Levis? They'd be giddy to get him at 19. I honestly don't know. I just keep hearing from draft people and guys that cover these teams that nobody seems to want him. As mentioned earlier NFL teams clearly don't view him that way. Im just not sure where exactly to slot him in. I dont think we are getting all 4 guys in the top ten. I think Levis is my 4th ranked and viewed by a lot covering the draft the same way. I think he would go like Mac Jones did which I believe was 15. So I dont think 19 is insanely unrealistic. I think he goes in the 15-20 range. I do agree that if the Vikings got him there they would be happy. Funny enough a lot of Vikings fans also dont want him.

I think at the very least he might be the most fun guy to watch play. Its easy to assume that with the former Eagles OC as HC that they could run a similar scheme for Richardson and be successful. It could potentially ease him into the starting job earlier. I'd be more nervous about the Levis rumors. Not that he can't be good but it definitely makes me nervous that I see so many people that cover the league not seem to want him. Prisco says that that isn't how the league thinks about Levis, though. So much depends on how a QB is coached. Allen, in his first season, looked just like his press clippings. Inaccurate, arrogant, uncoachable. You heard the Ryan Leaf comparisons. But Buffalo fired their QB coach after the 2018 season and hired Ken Dorsey. A guy who knew how to be a winning QB, in college of course but on the highest level of college football. Would Allen have turned out to be a quality QB without Dorsey maybe. He still had issues in 2019. But you could see the improvement. The Ryan Leaf comparisons went away. The Bills went out and got the veteran WR that DB's were scared of in 2020 (Stefon Diggs) and the rest is history. The point is, unless you have the rare QB who's a star from Day One, you have to do everything to make a prospect into a star.

It's become a sort-of tradition for rival teams to send former players to roast the host fans during their pick. Looking forward to seeing what the Raiders/Broncos/Chargers come up with.

Look for the Texans to get a QB that falls into their lap with their second pick at #12. If they can draft a game-changing defender and a young QB (whoever it is, Levis, Richardson, Stroud, whatever) in the first round, that's a win.

I've seen rumors that Houston wants nothing to do with CJ Stroud. If Carolina takes Bryce Young, the Texans might set the Draft on end and take Will Anderson at #2. The Cardinals would shit because the phone would be ringing, offering the world for the #3.

I won't believe anything until Goodell announces the names at the podium.

Nothing will make a team overpay more than a QB prospect.

There is speculation that Houston wants nothing to do with Stroud because he has the same agent as Deshaun Watson and there is bad blood between the two sides. Would be an interesting wrinkle into the decision to not take a QB at #2.

The McAfee one in Tennessee was legendary. I've really come to hate those announcements though as too often they drag the shit out for too long. This reminds me of last year the guy that was a former player and was the coach on the show Blue Mountain State took like a half hour of TV time as he wouldn't shut the fuck up. They had to keep rushing him and he just kept going. It was the worst. Hopefully they learned from that and get the show moving along. Make a comment or whatever and move along.

Carter might not be the top ten pick he thinks he is.
McShay on Jalen Carter via PMT Podcast: “I’ve got 7 different sources (including Georgia’s coaches): “He’s not a self starter and doesn’t handle tough coaching well….there aren’t a lot of people in Athens [associated with the team] that are crying that Carter is gone.” Also said “you’ve got to have a strong veteran presence in the defensive line room to bring him in because he’ll need to be motivated by teammates to play well. I’m not saying anything that everyone in the league isn’t already saying.”

Haynesworth flat out packed it in once he got paid. Yep. He was decent/good his first four years. Then when it got to sniffing distance to get paid, he went all out for two years (one under the tag) and put up All-Pro seasons. And then when he got paid, he was an abject disaster. Good for Tennessee to let that be Washington's problem. I think that's going to be Carter's trajectory as well. Money will be the motivation, and you don't want to deal with him after he gets it.
