Carter might not be the top ten pick he thinks he is. McShay on Jalen Carter via PMT Podcast: “I’ve got 7 different sources (including Georgia’s coaches): “He’s not a self starter and doesn’t handle tough coaching well….there aren’t a lot of people in Athens [associated with the team] that are crying that Carter is gone.” Also said “you’ve got to have a strong veteran presence in the defensive line room to bring him in because he’ll need to be motivated by teammates to play well. I’m not saying anything that everyone in the league isn’t already saying.” My comp for him has been Albert Haynesworth. You take the good, you take the bad . . . Oof. Not the comp anybody wants. Haynesworth was a lot bigger and if I remember correctly just got extremely lazy once paid. I got zero problems if a guy gets motivated by money. But if that's the case than I'd hope you'd continue to stay motivated to continue to make more money. Guys like this make me think of someone winning the lottery and blowing all the money in like a 10 year span.

By now, I think it's nearly certain that Carolina will take Bryce Young #1 overall. I think he's awfully small but I have ford memories of another tiny QB, Doug Flutie. We shall see.
After that, the real fun begins. I've seen too many last day mocks with Houston NOT taking CJ Stroud. They might be thinking that they can either get a great player (Will Anderson) or trade down and get a QB later, be it Will Levis, Herdon Hooker, Stetson Bennett or someone else.

Wow...so much for all that news of the last week. Stroud to Houston.
Cardinals might actually have more value to that trade after all.

Texas trading up and getting Will Anderson was a surprise. No mock drafts had that. I think I know who won the night. After that the Colts take QB Anderson. Another surprise.

Vikings really need to be trying to make a trade up for Levis.

How are they only on the 20th pick?
Jeez...

I'm honestly going to laugh if Levis goes past the Vikings. I'm assuming the fact that he eats banana peels and puts mayo in his coffee is the true turn off

The Bills take Utah TE Dalton Kincaid. Best TE and the best prospect left on the board (other than Will Levis). They could use another TE to go with Dawson Knox. Most mocks I seen had the Bills taking a WR but there was a run on them. Penn State's CB Joey Porter or Georgia's LB Nolan Smith might have been better picks but what do I know

Let’s go baby! Highest ceiling of any QB in the draft! If nothing else, he’ll be fun to watch in Steichen’s scheme.

Philly took a guy with major character issues? I’m shocked.

Richardson should give you that in one form or the other. Jameis was even fun to watch when he threw 30 ints for me anyways.

Once in the blue moon, the Patriots take the best player available at their spot. Christian Gonzalez seems like a puzzle piece they can have locked up for a long while. Trading down from the Steelers who grabbed a Jets target is another bonus.

Were they both sisters? I would have taken the leftover of those two.

Hope the Steelers take the opportunity to move the pick. He had visits with Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Steelers "have received, and are mulling, multiple offers" for the No. 32 overall pick.
The Steelers got the pick by trading Chase Claypool to the Bears last year. Now they are in a position to increase their return from the move by trading back in the draft and accruing extra picks. This rumor was reported almost as soon as the first round ended. Kentucky quarterback Will Levis is still on the board and there are likely multiple teams eager to move up and take him. With Pittsburgh already having Kenny Pickett locked in as their starter, it sounds unlikely that they end up making the first pick of the second round.
