So why did the Suns get involved in that trade? I thought Ayton was supposed to be a really good young player, has he not panned out? I haven't paid much attention the last 2-3 years.

Ayton hasn't been what they expected, and I think he had different ideas on how he should be used. It just wasn't a good fit.

Ben Simmons Posts Video Of Himself Prepping For Season By Sitting On Bench In A Suit BROOKLYN, NY—In an effort to drum up excitement and show fans that he was taking his preseason training seriously, Brooklyn Nets power forward Ben Simmons posted a video to Instagram Wednesday in which he is seen prepping for the season by sitting on the bench in a suit. “You’re gonna see plenty of this in the 2023-24 season,” read the caption accompanying a 10-minute video compilation that showed Simmons sitting courtside in various suits, sweaters, and other street clothes. “It was tough at first because my posture wasn’t great and my pants were bunching up at the knees, but I figured it out and now I’m sitting up great #gametime.” At press time, the Nets announced that Simmons would not be on the bench for several weeks after pulling his hamstring while sitting.

Can’t say that I’m the least bit surprised. But I should be. Thing is I had Ben Simmons pegged for who and what he is a long, long time ago. He never had me fooled. Despite being a 76ers fan this one area where I always completely disagreed with screamingtreefrogsAnd it turns out I was right. He probably thinks he’s being clever and sarcastically funny. He’s just a self absorbed jerk. With his track record he has no business joking about these issues. Any player (with the same circumstances) - and that respected himself, his craft, his teammates, and the fans - wouldn’t even think of doing this. He’s another athlete whose talent is wasted on the fact that his attitude is totally messed up. (We have seen this before and can probably think of a dozen other examples). The media really should just give him a blackout status. It would be well deserved.

They wanted him to be Bam Adebayo. But despite having comparable stats he is just not the playmaker that Adebayo is. Because of that, tension between him and coaching, management, & ownership had gotten worse and worse every year.

But unfortunately, it also sounds like something Ben Simmons would really do. (Because he’s actually done things not far off from this). But okay. Score one for the Onion. 👍

r.i.p. Brendan Malone, Raptors first ever HC. Was on the Bad Boys Pistons staff, & father of current Nuggets HC champion Michael Malone.

Thought a few ( Rey Kahuka) might appreciate this; it's making the rounds on Reddit. NOT mine: The agenda is absurd. Frodo gave it his all and pulled through in the end? Fraudo? He choked big-time on the grandest stage of all; he was basically Ben Simmons in that series. Sam carried him to victory, but of course Frodo wound up with an undeserved Finals MVP.

I read the books twice, and though I liked Fellowship for what it was, the character depictions fucked with my head, and it was so much more audience-pleasing action focused. So that's as far as I got.
