Hello, all.
Well, this feels a tad peculiar. I think the last time I posted a table was around December '22, and I've had to remind myself of the layout by consulting a previous table. Still, on we crack, and it's Brighton (who've possibly conducted the shrewdest business in the history of the EPL with the offloading of £4m midfielder Caicedo to Chelsea for £115m) who sit atop the EPL table after thrashing fangless Wolves; Man City join the Seagulls on 6 points despite Gladiola's forked tongue proclaiming City cannot repeat the form of last season; a Harryless Tottenham saw off an Untied United whose boss Ten Haag had the temerity to claim his side was the better; Everton hit rock bottom after an almost self-inflicted thrashing at the feet of Villa; and Chelsea's billion dollar assemblage turned into Brother Can You Spare a Dime (or a couple of goals) at West Ham and find themselves in 15th place already.
Next week's fixtures includes the Super Sunday clash between Newcastle and Liverpool, and it's a very different Toon side to ten years ago when The Reds staged the Slaughter at Saint James', winning 0-6 with braces by Henderson and Sturridge. The bookies make Toon just-above-evens favourites with Liverpool at 2/1.
Well done to FONG and AJ for their 7s (out of 9 this week, remember) No Lone Rangers as yet, although only 2 players got the results at Tottenham correct (FONG & STAG) and at West Ham (FONG & BOB) but ultimately they ended up getting in each other's way and ended up scalpless.
Edit : And many, many thanks to Darkshines for her wonderful work in keeping the Tourney going all these months when I couldn't. Well done DSH. But don't get too comfy, you're up next week
