There's plenty of them but just for the sake of the poll I've picked 10 of the ones that are more so well known for action movies in general and/or just made those kind of movies in the 80's and 90's.
Your favourite doesn't have to be listed in the poll. It can be anybody.
For me I'd have to go with Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's between him and Slyvester Stallone but my favourite movies of his are tneRocky movies which aren't really action movies.
Between Terminator, Predator, True Lies, Commando, Running Man. Last Action Hero and Eraser hes done more action movies that I enjoy compared to anybody else.

1 vote for the The Italian Stallion, who made more (in numbers) enjoyable films than Arnie and unlike him is still going strong. Stallone's career is also more diverse in style and I respect him for also writing & directing some of his best movies.

Arnold Schwarzenegger. Without a doubt, the last great action hero (for me that is) even though he hasen't starred in a great film since 1994, his period between 1982-1994 was unmatched. Even though Sly tried his best, I just think he relied too much on the whole Rocky/Rambo series (which I love) but beside Cobra (1986) and maybe Tango & Cash (1989) most of his other 80s/90s stuff did not come "close" to match any of Arnolds "lesser" films done between 82-94. Anyway I am glad Sly are still doing strong, and hopefully the two action giants will do another movie together in the near future. Anyway we were real "spoiled" back then, with so many great action stars handing out bad ass action classics.

My personal pick for greatest action movie star would be Errol Flynn. When it comes to classic Hollywood swashbucklers he was king.

If I could call a draw it would be Mel, Arnold and Bruce. I gave the slightest edge to Mel Gibson.

Schwarzenegger! Between Conan and the Terminator, he defined action.

Bruce Willis, due to actually being believable as a normal person in extraordinary situations.

Sly Stallone and it's not even close.
Now Mel Gibson is the 'best actor' on that list, but you said 'Greatest Action Movie Star".
Rocky Rocky II Rocky III Rocky IV Rocky V Rocky Balboa First Blood Rambo: First Blood Part II Rambo III Rambo Over the Top Cobra Tango and Cash Copland Cliffhanger Demolition Man Judge Dredd Assassins The Expendables The Expendables II The Expendables III
Name a better Action Filmography than that?

If so, I'll add Spy Kids 3D to Sly's list. Seriously though, that list is impressive, but outside of "The Terminator" series What does he has that touches Rocky or Rambo?

outside of "The Terminator" series What does he has that touches Rocky or Rambo? Predator, Total Recall, Conan The Barbarian, True Lies, The Last Action Hero and of course Commando, to name a few.

I rated Batman & Robin 6/10 ... not as bad as everyone says. Yes you should add Spy Kids 3D to Sly's list, it is one of his Action films. Arnold's total action resume is better than Stallone's total action resume ... if you want to debate one or two action series then you have a great argument ... but that's not the question.
