100 Days until opening Day Yeah!! Technically, March 28 is the real Opening Day like we'll all celebrate. But apparently, official Opening Day is a mere 92 days away. The Dodgers and Padres are playing 2 games, that count, in Seoul, Korea,, starting on March 20. So, what, they play 2 regular season games on the other side of the world, then come back for another week of spring training? I guess that makes sense. Nah, it's probably "Load Management", LBJ been in Manfred's ear.

I just can't believe how many commas I had in that post. Grammarreference.com Mike Trout is trending on page 1 with Cade Cunningham & RJ Barrett.

Cidy Bellinger is seeking $200 Million.
Before anyone laughs, Jayson Heyward got around $212 Million about a decade ago.

Cidy Bellinger is seeking $200 Million. Before anyone laughs, Jayson Heyward got around $212 Million about a decade ago. He'll definitely get it just due to the fact that it's a paper thin market this year. He's a good outfielder and he seemed to rebound last year, although he'll never be the power threat he was a few years ago it seems. I don't want any part of him, but I can see him getting that contract pretty easily. The Blue Jays and Giants seem like obvious candidates just because they keep taking big swings at the biggest names and coming up a hair short, so they can throw a crazy offer at Bellinger to "get their man," as it were.

Fans just gotta hope this all blows up in the Dodgers face like it would the Mets (sorry Klaw). Otherwise baseball is gonna be bleak to watch with just desperate hope a team gets hot enough in the playoffs to knock em out. Teams gotta try and take advantage of Ohtani not pitching next season.

So is baseball going to get a salary cap or just wait for the Dodgers to literally sign everyone?

So is baseball going to get a salary cap or just wait for the Dodgers to literally sign everyone? The players union has said, over and over, they will nuke the game before they agree to a salary cap. And the free spending owners don't want one either. I can see MLB making a push on deferred contracts. It's bull shit that Shohei only counts $2,000,000 toward the Dodgers luxury tax. You can't get a LOOGY for that price now

The idea of expecting anything like that from Manfred is questionable. He would never do anything that would hurt the big spending owners like the Dodgers, Mets, or Yankees. He will say fuck you to Oakland and the As fans but will drop to his knees for the Dodgers.

He will say fuck you to Oakland and the As fans but will drop to his knees for the Dodgers. If the Dodgers keep this up, eventually MLB will have to do something. The league started the Amateur Draft in 1965 to hamstring the Yankees (who had already faded). They came up with the Luxury Tax in 1997 to tamp down the huge spending post 1994 strike. While the Commissioner's office has been a tool for the rich owners in the past, eventually, they have to listen to the have nots. The one thing that baseball cannot have, and both players and owners agree, is to have a team fold. Might be a log shot but maybe not. How would like to own the Colorado Rockies right now. They finished 41 games behind a team without Shohei and Admiral Yamamoto. Bright future, aint it?

Pirates a while back turned a profit every year though something like 20 consecutive losing seasons. What happens to LA when they start having to really pay Ohtani?

What happens to LA when they start having to really pay Ohtani?"The owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers is a wealthy man, and Mark Walter's net worth reflects that. The iconic MLB franchise is helmed by one of the richest people in the world. The CEO of Guggenheim Partners, a privately held global financial firm with more than $325 billion in assets, has amassed quite the fortune over the years."
He can pay Ohtani from what's in the cushions of his couch
