I get that he's a star, but throwing the biggest money at a receiver when your quarterback and the heart of your defense are still looking to take their share of the pie, doesn't seem like a smart move, historically.

I get that he's a star, but throwing the biggest money at a receiver when your quarterback and the heart of your defense are still looking to take their share of the pie, doesn't seem like a smart move, historically. I think at this point its Dak's team that is playing hard ball and wanting to hit free agency which probably is a smart move money wise. Dallas probably has to REALLY blow him away with an offer for him to forgo free agency. He has all the leverage. They can't trade him via his no trade clause and they can't tag him since that was negotiated into his last deal. So I think its Daks side that is more responsible for no deal getting done. If he hits free agency he will likely get a fully guaranteed deal that will blow previous contracts out of the water. Teams like the Raiders, Giants, Steelers, Panthers (possibly), Titans (possibly) all could be in the QB market during an offseason where the early reports are this upcoming QB rookie class won't be very good.

Agreed. It's cruel to have a team in Philadelphia.
