Hi all,
Liverpool are holding off Man City at the top but that may change with game-in-hand City featuring three times in the next two rounds, once more than Liverpool. City have ramped up the ante over the weeks and bookies now go 4/7 they win the league. There's even less value in Top Goalscorer of the season with Erling Haaland (16 goals) at 1/4, ahead of Mo Salah at 6/1 (14 goals) Salah may be penciled in for a return from injury for Liverpool's next game v Brentford.
At the other end of the table, relegation surely looms for no-hopers Burnley and Sheff Utd both of whom have showed us little in the way of fight, it has to be said. They could be joined by any one of three or four sides, which now includes Crystal Palace, and that could be where our real entertainment lies in the final few games. The seemingly unflappable Roy Hodgson continues to shrug off relegation danger despite only 5 points separating the drop zone and Palace. Everton, Luton and Forest also invite themselves to the annual scrapfest with drop outsiders Brentford and Bournemouth still having to look over their shoulders. You have to feel some sympathy for fans of those dogfight teams but when some of our own teams are languishing in midtable without captain or compass to go one way or the other you have to take good entertainment wherever you can get it.
Stand out games over the forthcoming cards include vital relegation 'six-pointers' with Everton and Burnley both facing Palace, a potential acca-buster as 14/1 shots Luton visit Anfield and ritual slaughter at the Ethiad with City v Chelsea.
Well done to Krippen and Fong for their standalone predictions , and we hope Zos returns after missing this latest round. He collects insurance points.
