Hello again.
In a sign perhaps of things to come Manchester City today succeeded in their legal APT (Associated Part Transaction; insider trading to you and me) case versus the Premier League. You can still nab 12/1 for the club to be relegated this term following the New Year outcome of the FFP charges. The APT case is separate from FFP and for those interested in the murky world of league-wide APT togetherness, Chelsea, Everton and Newcastle all backed City as witnesses while Arsenal, Brighton, Liverpool, Man Utd, Tottenham and West Ham backed the Premier League in the witness stand. So you've got The PL insinuating City as liars and City calling the PL unlawful. Only a few days ago you had Pep Guardiola bemoaning his lot after his request to delay his club's early fixtures next season, due to Club World Cup involvement, was rejected by the PL. Maybe he'll have better luck with the EFL next year when City go down.
Everton have now gone 3 league games undefeated and those five points have put them 2 points clear of the drop-zone and they'll surely be looking forward to Ipswich away next game. The BBC won't leave Erik Ten Hag alone with about 2,453 articles in the last month on his future/non-future at Old Trafford - the latest being a scathing piece by head writer Geoff McNulty. Even anti-United folk are tiring of it now with a top comment posted by EdCeltic which read simply 'McNulty Out' Ange Postecoglou blew a gasket following Tottenham's collapse at Brighton : "The worst fucking performance under me, played like a bunch of fucking Sheilas", Gary O'Neil saw his Wolves score three times and still lose : "No fucking structure, too fucking open, three fucking goals and they get five" and Palace boss Oliver Glasner vented his spleen at the club's tea-lady as she bumped into him after the final whistle following defeat to Liverpool : "No fucking penalty, Doris. It was a fucking foul and VAR said no, the bunch of c***s. Give me a tea, please"
Well, okay, they didn't say all that, at least not in public. With the Nations League just around the corner you've plenty of time to try to make sense of your predictions in this quite unpredictable campaign so far.
