How do the lower division teams qualify for the first round of the cup?
It can't be that all teams down to the 7th division are included in the draw because it would be much longer than shown in your post.

Bundesliga, 2nd Bundesliga and the four best teams of the third division are qualified automatically. The other teams are winners of lower division cup competitions. More information here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DFB-Pokal#ParticipationNice trivia: The father of FC Freiburg's Nils Petersen is the coach of VfB Germania Halberstadt.

TBH I don't even know what this guy's job even is at Bayern. Never quite understood it with Sammer, either.

Ancelotti hours before Bayern introduced their new sporting director: "I don't know who's gonna be introduced. I don't think there was anything amiss last season, but the club felt they needed to find a sporting director." Hilarious

Kicker says that Hannover 96 have approved of Martin Kind taking over the remaining shares of Hannover 96 GmbH & Co KGaA.
So that'll be the fourth club in the top flight operating outside 50+1 (Leverkusen, Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim being the others). Plus Rasenballsport Leipzig who inofficially operate outside of it, of course.

DFB Cup fixtures today:
TUS Koblenz - Dynamo Dresden (1-2, 80th minute) Rot-Weiß Essen - Borussia M'Gladbach Karlsruher SC - Bayer Leverkusen Holstein Kiel - Eintracht Braunschweig
Wouldn't put it past Leverkusen to get knocked out against 3rd division KSC.

TUS Koblenz is a matter of local patriotism, and boy*, I can still remember when teh KSC was rocking the UEFA Cup...this game against Valenica. It's sometimes shocking to see what has become of some once great clubs.
*in West Wing this expression was reason enough for Bartlet to win the presidential election
